    摘要: A high quality electrical contact that is made of a Cd free Ag alloy and can be applied to a breaker is provided. The electrical contact is made of an Ag alloy containing Sn and In each 1 to 9% by weight, and has a first layer as the surface layer and a second layer as an internal portion. The hardness of the first layer and the hardness of the second layer are equal to or more than 190 and equal to or less than 130, respectively, based on micro Vickers standard defined by JIS. The thickness of the first layer is within the range from 10 to 360 μm. In particular, the electrical contact has a high quality temperature characteristic as well as a high quality welding resistance characteristic.

In particular, an electric contact comprised of an Ag alloy containing 1 to 9 mass % of Sn in which the amount of Cd as impurity is 0 or less than 0.01 mass %, the electric contact having a double layer structure composed of a surface-side first layer and an interior second layer wherein the first layer has a thickness of 10 μm or greater and has an average hardness of 150 or higher on the microvickers scale stipulated in JIS while the second layer has an average hardness of higher than 130 on the same scale.

    摘要: An electrode material for electrical discharge machining made of a W—Cu alloy containing at least 40% by weight of W, at most 15% by weight of an additional element or a compound thereof, and a balance of Cu, contains, as the additional element or the compound thereof, at most 10% by weight of particles selected from an alkali metal element, an alkaline-earth metal element and a rare-earth element, and an oxide, a hydroxide, a nitride, a boride and a sulfide of the elements. For example, the additional element or the compound thereof is an oxide or a hydroxide of each of Ba, Nd and Ce. The particles have a mean particle diameter of less than 3 μm or a mean interparticle spacing of at most 20 μm. At least 30% of W particles contained in the alloy preferably have a particle diameter of at most 1 μm. In addition, not more than 10% by weight of Ni can further be contained. According to the present invention, there can be provided an electrode material for electrical discharge machining which causes less electrode wear and attains higher machining rate, and is excellent in electrical discharge machining property.
