Abstract: A digital video camera comprising: user controls enabling a user to select between at least an up input, a down input, a left input, a right input, and a confirmation input; and a program memory storing instructions to implement a method for trimming a digital video sequence. The method includes: selecting a digital video sequence; initiating a trimming operation; accepting user input to select a start frame and an end frame for a trimmed digital video sequence, wherein the up input and the down input are used to select between a start frame selection mode and an end frame selection mode, and the left input and the right input are used to scroll through the frames of the selected digital video sequence; and trimming the selected video sequence to include the frames between the selected start frame and the selected end frame.

Abstract: Portable communication devices transmit digital images and their location information to a central server. If a particular location is often photographed it can be designated as a hot spot. Thereafter, if a communication device is currently transmitting from within a vicinity of the hot spot, based on the location data received from the communication device, notification data can be transmitted to the communication device for notifying the user of the hot spot. The notification data can include directional information for the user to access on the communication device for enabling the user to find the hot spot.

Abstract: A method produces an improved high resolution image. This method includes capturing low resolution images and a high resolution image and combining the low resolution images to provide an aggregate low resolution image. The method further includes reducing the resolution of the high resolution image to provide an image representative of a low resolution image at a low resolution setting of the image capture device; interpolating the representative low resolution image to provide an interpolated high resolution image; and calculating a residual image from the high resolution image and the interpolated high resolution image. The method also includes combining the representative low resolution image and the aggregate low resolution image to provide a final low resolution image and using the final low resolution image and the residual image to provide the improved high resolution image.
