    摘要: A known method for producing a hollow cylinder of synthetic quartz glass comprises the steps of: (a) providing an inner tube of synthetic quartz glass having an inner bore defined by an inner wall, (b) cladding the inner tube (3′) with an SiO2 soot layer (4′), and (c) sintering the SiO2 soot layer with formation of the hollow cylinder. Starting therefrom, to indicate a method in which on the one hand the sintering process is completed before the hollow cylinder is further processed together with the core rod, and in which on the other hand a complicated machining of the inner bore of the hollow cylinder of quartz glass is not required, the invention suggests that during sintering the surface temperature of the inner wall of the inner tube should be kept below the softening temperature.

    摘要: In a known method for producing a hollow quartz-glass cylinder by means of the soot method , a porous soot tube with a central inner bore is produced by the deposition of SiO2 particles on the outer surface of a support that rotates about its longitudinal axis. The soot tube is then heated in a furnace and sintered. During said process, the tube is held by a retaining device, which comprises an elongated shaping element that projects into the inner bore. The soot tube collapses onto said shaping element thus forming the hollow cylinder. The aim of the invention is to develop said process to provide an economic method that can be used to obtain quartz-glass hollow cylinders with a narrower inner bore. To achieve this, during the sintering process, a pressure differential is at least temporarily generated and maintained between a lower internal pressure prevailing in the inner bore of the soot tube and a higher external pressure that exists outside the inner bore. The invention also relates to a device that is suitable for carrying out said method.

In order to provide, proceeding from this, a method, a tubular semi-finished product and a group of coaxial components for the cost-effective production of an optical fiber, which is characterized by a high quality of the boundary between the core and jacket and by low bending sensitivity, according to the invention, the silica glass of the ring zone is provided in the form of a ring zone tube made of silica glass having a mean fluorine content of at least 6000 weight ppm and the tube has an inner tube surface and an outer tube surface, wherein via the wall of the ring zone tube, a radial fluorine concentration profile is adjusted which has an inner fluorine depletion layer with a layer thickness of at least 1 μm and no more than 10 μm, in which the fluorine content decreases toward the inner tube surface and is no more than 3000 weight ppm in a region close to the surface which has a thickness of 1 μm.

Starting therefrom, to provide a method for producing a glass body of high homogeneity that can be realized in a constructionally simple way, the invention suggests that the movement of the depositor arrangement along the longitudinal axis of the substrate body should be accompanied by a displacement of the substrate body. An apparatus suited for performing the method is distinguished by a displacement device for a displacement of the soot body which is accompanied by the movement of the depositor arrangement along the longitudinal axis of the substrate body.

    摘要: Known methods for producing a semifinished product for an optical component of synthetic quartz glass of high homogeneity require a great number of forming or shaping steps for homogenization, which is troublesome in terms of energy and time and entails the risk that impurities might be introduced. To avoid these drawbacks, a method modification is suggested that comprises the following method steps: (a) feeding a silicon-containing start compound, which can be converted by oxidation or hydrolysis into SiO2, to a deposition burner, and forming amorphous SiO2 particles in a burner flame assigned to the deposition burner, (b) forming a substantially solid-cylinder SiO2 blank by depositing the SiO2 particles onto a support with a longitudinal axis by way of successive layers, of which most extend in parallel with the longitudinal axis of the support and which extend in the direction of the outer surface of the blank, (c) homogenizing the SiO2 blank, including twisting along an axis of rotation extending coaxially to or in parallel with the longitudinal cylinder axis while forming the semifinished product. A blank suited for performing the method of the invention and shaped in the form of a substantially solid-cylinder SiO2 soot body from successive SiO2 layers is characterized in that most of the layers extend in parallel with the longitudinal axis of the soot body and in the direction of the outer surface of the soot body.
