    摘要: An optical information recording medium that has satisfactory main information recording characteristics and in which burst cutting area (BCA) marks can be formed without damaging a protective layer or a light-transmitting layer is provided. In forming the light-reflecting layer by vapor deposition, sputtering, ion-plating, or the like, part of the region is masked so as to make the thickness and/or material of the light-reflecting layer in a main information recording region where main information is recorded different from that of the light-reflecting layer in a BCA equivalent region. As a result, burst cutting of the light-reflecting layer in the BCA equivalent region becomes easier than in the main information recording region.

    摘要: A sheet thickness detecting device for detecting a thickness of a sheet includes a fixed roller rotatably supported by a shaft so that the fixed roller faces the sheet; a movable roller rotatably provided so that the movable roller and the fixed roller sandwich and feed the sheet, and configured to be displaced in accordance with the thickness of the sandwiched sheet; a swing member rotatably supporting the movable roller and including a shaft so that the swing member is swung around the shaft, wherein the swing member further includes a detection target part formed in a manner that a distance between the detection target part and the shaft is greater than that between a position where the movable roller is supported by the swing member and the shaft; and a detecting unit detecting the displacement amount of the detection target part of the swing member.

    摘要: There is provided a new medium structure to record a bar code for copyright protection or the like in an optical information recording medium capable of recording and reproducing information by a laser with respect to a dye. When a laser beam 30 is irradiated and an optical disc 10 is rotation in the direction of an arrow F, the dye of a recording layer is decomposed, a mark piece MA of a bar code 20 is formed, and a substrate is deformed by heat generated by the dye decomposition. Next, the position of the laser beam 30 is shifted to a position where a part overlaps with the mark piece MA, and when the optical disc is similarly rotated in the direction of the arrow F, a mark piece MB is formed to overlap with the mark piece MA. The above processing is repeated, so that the length of a bar is sequentially lengthened, and the bar code with a length along the standard is formed.
