摘要: Provided is a biological-information measurement device having a small-sized device configuration without a reduction in measurement precision. Reflected light from a measurement object (10) is split using a rotary diffraction grating (110), and the space requirements and number of components of a light-splitting optical system can thereby be reduced. A reflecting member (140) for reflecting light incident from a measurement probe (106) instead of the measurement object (10) and emitting the light to the measurement probe (106) is also provided, whereby an optical path for obtaining a measurement signal and an optical path for obtaining a reference signal can be configured in common, space requirements can be reduced, and precision of calibration can be enhanced. As a result, particularly the light-splitting optical system and a reference signal optical system can be reduced in size without a reduction in measurement precision.

摘要: A multi-layer piezoelectric element includes a multi-layer structure having a plurality of internal electrode layers and a plurality of piezoelectric ceramic layers. The multi-layer structure has a driving portion formed by stacking the plurality of internal electrode layers and the piezoelectric ceramic layers alternately on each other, and non-driving portions that are formed by stacking a plurality of the piezoelectric ceramic layers and are disposed on both end portions of the driving portion in a stacked direction. The piezoelectric ceramic layers of the non-driving portions have the same piezoelectric material as that of the piezoelectric ceramic layers of the driving portion as a main component, and have a mean crystal grain size larger than that of the driving portion.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an image carrier, a transfer member, a gripper that grips a leading end portion of a recording medium, and a restraining portion that is disposed so as to face an outer peripheral surface of the transfer member and that is movable relative to the transfer member. The restraining member restrains a trailing end portion of the recording medium that is gripped by the gripper from rising. The restraining portion has widths in a rotational axis direction of the transfer member and in a transport direction of the recording medium and is capable of facing the recording medium in a faceable region, and a part of the faceable region over which the restraining portion faces the trailing end portion of the recording medium is larger than a part of the faceable region over which the restraining member does not face the trailing end portion.
