Abstract:
A camera capable of operating in a red-eye prevention mode. The camera has an electronic flash device which is activated by a drive circuit in synchronization with the exposure. The electronic flash device also serve as a pre-light-emission device capable of performing pre-light-emission for the purpose of preventing red-eye effect. When it is judged from the photographing condition that red-eye effect may occur, a controller activates the electronic flash device to effect a pre-light-emission for reducing the size of pupils of eyes of a person to be photographed, before the main flashing which is executed in synchronization with the exposure.

Abstract:
The present invention has designed and constructed a flexible printed circuit board which has a surface portion on which is mounted an electronic component and also a board portion which is folded back over itself so as to overhang the electronic component mounting surface and in which a shield pattern is extended over at least a surface portion in opposing relationship with an electronic component and is electrically grounded in order to protect the electronic component from external electrical noise. Thus the present invention provides a flexible printed circuit board which is inexpensive to fabricate, can prevent the erroneous operation of the electronic component from external electrical noise and permits the efficient arrangement of electronic components.
Abstract:
A camera with a flash device comprises: flash emission means, regulating means for regulating the irradiating angle of the light from the flash emission means, the regulating means having at least a first state and a second state wherein the irradiating angle in the first state is wider than that in the second state, a photographing lens, displacing means for displacing the flash emission means between a first position and a second position which is more distant than the first position from the optical axis of the photographing lens, a drive shaft to be rotated by a motor, and transmission means for transmitting the rotation of the drive shaft to the regulating means in case of the rotation of the drive shaft in a direction, and transmitting the rotation of the drive shaft to the displacing means in case of the rotation of the drive shaft in the other direction, whereby the regulating means is adapted to shift from one of the first and second states to the other in response to the rotation of the drive shaft in the first-mentioned direction, and the displacing means is adapted to shift from one of the first and second positions to the other in response to the rotation of the drive shaft in said the other direction.
Abstract:
A single-lens reflex camera includes a protruding housing portion enclosing a pentagonal prism and an eyepiece optical system. The housing portion has at least two lateral faces connecting a front face and a rear face. The camera includes a flash unit having two arm members fixed thereto. The two arm members can rotate about axis passing through the protruding portion between the lateral faces. The two arm members can assume a first position where the flash unit is disabled and a second position where the flash unit is enabled.
Abstract:
A camera comprises a housing provided therein with a film chamber and an aperture for exposure which opens in the film chamber, the housing being equipped with a cover member for opening or closing the film chamber, focal plane shutter means provided with a light-shielding blade member for closing the aperture for exposure, wherein the blade member can be retracted from the aperture for exposure to expose a photographic film loaded in the film chamber to light, means for detecting that the cover means has opened the film chamber, and control means for retracting the blade member from the aperture for exposure in response to an output from the detecting means.
Abstract:
To provide a camera that can perform a removal operation for particles adherent to a surface upon which light is incident, of a pickup device and a transmitting member disposed on an optical path of the pickup device in such a condition that the particles are properly removed. According to the present invention, a camera comprises a driving mechanism section to drop and remove particles on a cleaning target that is a surface of an image pickup device and/or a surface of a low-pass filter provided closer to a side of a subject in an optical path than the image pickup device, the subject light passing through the low-pass filter, which is provided with: a tilt sensor to detect an orientation of the camera; and a control section to judge whether a removal operation for the particles by the driving mechanism section should be carried out or not in accordance with the detected value from the tilt sensor.

Abstract:
A photographing information setting apparatus for a camera has a capability of improving the operativity in setting photographing information by displaying all of the photographing information or a part thereof contained in a photographing information group when such a group is selected by an information group selecting device. In selecting photographing information, a photographing information group containing exposing modes, shutter speeds, and others is selected by the information group selecting device and at least two pieces of photographing information contained in this photographing information group are displayed in a display. For example, when a photographing information group regarding exposing modes is selected, the exposing modes PM, P, S, A and M are displayed in the display. Then, when a photographing information is further set by an information setting device from the selected photographing information group, such a photographing information is displayed in the display in a state where this information is distinguished from the other pieces of photographing information. In other words, the standard automatic exposing mode P is displayed in the display in such a manner if it is set, for example.
