Abstract:
A beverage dispensing assembly that is capable of dispensing controlled or metered portions of a beverage charged with a gas fits onto a shelf in a conventional household refrigerator. The beverage dispensing assembly includes a sealed disposable container assembly that contains the beverage and a dispensing assembly that cooperates with the container assembly to selectively unseal the container assembly and dispense controlled portions of the beverage from the container assembly.
Abstract:
An automatic dispenser includes a housing, a reservoir, a pump, an intake tube, and exhaust tube, and a spigot. The reservoir is disposed in the housing. The pump includes a pump chamber and is disposed in the housing. The pump is for drawing liquid from an associated container. The intake tube is in fluid communication with the pump chamber. The intake tube is adapted to be disposed in the associating container. The exhaust tube is in fluid communication with the pump chamber and the reservoir. The spigot is for selectively discharging the liquid from the reservoir. An energy efficient, measured dose appliance is provided.
Abstract:
A beverage making appliance has a water reservoir, brewing basket and water heating and pumping device within a tower structure with the brewing basket in a top region of the tower. The brewing basket has a sloped floor and a drain hole positioned near an edge of the sloped floor, and positioned over a recess in the tower so that liquid drains from the brewing basket to the exterior of the tower. The recess in the tower is configured to receive a pitcher whereby a pitcher positioned within the recess receives liquid, in the form of a brewed beverage, from the brewing basket. A valve assembly in connection with the drain hole of the brewing basket is controllable from the exterior of the tower to regulate the flow rate of liquid from the brewing basket into the pitcher, thus altering the characteristics of the brewed beverage produced by the appliance.
Abstract:
Apparatus for brewing a brew substance with a liquid comprises: a container for storing the liquid, the container including at least one aperture for dispensing liquid therefrom; a sealed packet of filter paper containing the brew substance; and a layer of heat sensitive film encapsulating the sealed packet, the encapsulated packet disposed within the container at a position covering the at least one aperture, the container configured to sit on top of a drinking container to permit liquid to drain into the drinking container from the at least one aperture thereof. In addition, a method of making a brewing apparatus comprises the steps of: configuring a container to store liquid for brewing and to dispense the liquid through at least one aperture therein; encapsulating a sealed packet of filter paper containing a brew substance with a layer of heat sensitive film; disposing the encapsulated packet within the container at a position covering the at least one aperture; and configuring the container to sit on top of a drinking container to permit liquid to drain into the drinking container from the at least one aperture thereof.
Abstract:
A projector comprising a directional light source, a lens disposed opposite the light source, and an image medium support assembly disposed between the light source and the lens along a light path that extends from the light source through the lens; a housing enclosing the directional light source, the image medium support assembly, and the lens, wherein said housing is suitable for outdoor use; and a support member connected to the housing such that the angle of projection can be adjusted.
Abstract:
A system and method for storing a product in a thermally stabilized state is disclosed. The system includes a thermally-conductive structure having at least an enclosed volume and an open section. The open section is configured to store at least one unit of the product as the product is exposed to ambient air. The system also includes a thermally-conductive fluid sealed within the enclosed volume and being in thermal contact with the enclosed volume. The system further includes at least one thermo-electric device and at least one thermally-conductive probe extending from the at least one thermo-electric device and into the fluid. The probe provides a thermally-conductive path between the fluid and the thermo-electric device.
