摘要： In a rolling mill frame with composite stands each stand has a lower and an upper stand part. The stand parts are connected together by a pair of tie rods, both ends of each tie rod being supported on the lower and upper stand parts in a stress transmitting manner. The upper stand part can be displaced to permit rolls supported in the mill frame to be changed. Each tie rod is releasable by means of a bayonet type fast engagement connection and each such connection is disposed adjacent a separation point of one of the stand parts.

The billets are moved out of the furnace oppositely to the rolling direction and are conveyed crosswise on a rollway disposed in front of the de-scaling device and whose extension toward the first roll stand is located within the furnace chamber.

摘要： For rapidly interchanging the horizontal and vertical rolls of a universal rolling mill frame, two withdrawable assembly units are provided which can be secured to the respective stands of the rolling mill frame and which support the chocks of the rolls in an adjustable manner. The screw-down devices for the vertical rolls are mounted on transverse yokes of the stands and are separate from the assembly units. On the dismounting side of the frame, the transverse yoke together with the respective screwdown device can be displaced to permit lateral withdrawal of the assembly units together with the chocks and rolls mounted therein. The invention is also applicable to two-high rolling mill frames.
