    摘要: Method for making images by image-wise exposing a silver halide emulsion layer, developing it with an alkaline processing solution in the presence of a silver halide solvent, development nuclei, and a density- and tone-controlling compound, transferring silver complexes from the emulsion layer to a non-light-sensitive image-receiving layer and forming an image therein, said density- and tone-controlling compound being contained in said image-receiving layer and/or in said processing solution and corresponding to the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, and R.sup.3 (same or different) represent hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, or Alk.sub.1 --X--Alk.sub.2 --Y--; Alk.sub.1 is (substituted) C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl; X is --O-- or --S--; Alk.sub.2 is (substituted) C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkylene; Y is a single bond, --O--, --S--, --CONH--, --SO.sub.2 NH--, or --NHCONH--; R.sup.3 can alternatively represent (substituted) C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkylthio; at least one of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, and R.sup.3 being other than hydrogen and other than C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl. The invention also provides an image-receiving layer and/or a processing solution incorporating such density- and tone-controlling compound.

    摘要: A photographic material suited for use in the silver complex diffusion transfer process and comprising at least one water-permeable layer and including a hydrophilic colloid silver halide emulsion layer in which the silver halide comprises a mixture of silver chloride and silver iodide and/or silver bromide, at least 90 mole % based on the total molar weight of the silver halide being silver chloride, and the ratio by weight of hydrophilic colloid to silver halide expressed as silver nitrate is between about 3:1 and about 10:1, wherein said at least one of the water-permeable layers contains a mixture of developing agents comprising an o-dihydroxybenzene and a 3-pyrazolidinone, the molar amount of the o-dihydroxybenzene in the mixture being larger than the molar amount of the 3-pyrazolidinone.

    摘要: A photographic material for reproduction especially of continuous tone originals by the silver complex diffusion transfer process comprising in order:(1) a silver halide emulsion layer,(2) a layer reflecting white light having a dry coating weight in the range of 5 g/sq.m to 20 g/sq.m and dispersed in an organic hydrophilic colloid binder white inorganic pigment particles in such an amount that such layer has a diffuse transmission density of 0.30 to 0.50 and a reflection density of 0.15 to 0.20,(3) a subbing layer,(4) a hydrophobic transparent film support,(5) a subbing layer, and(6) an antihalation layer having a dry coating weight in the range of 4 g/sq.m to 15 g/sq.m and containing dispersed in an organic hydrophilic colloid binder a non-bleachable black antihalation material in such an amount that such layer has a diffuse transmission density of at least 2.

    摘要: A method for the production of a silver image by the silver complex diffusion transfer reversal process, said method comprising the following steps:(I) image-wise photo-exposing a silver halide emulsion layer of a photographic silver halide emulsion having in waterpermeable relationship with the silver halide at least one developing agent,(II) wetting with a practically neutral aqueous liquid the said photo-exposed silver halide emulsion layer and/or wetting with said liquid a development nuclei containing layer of an image-receiving material as defined hereinafter and contacting said materials thereby bringing said layers into waterpermeable relationship with each other, and(III) separating the contacted materials after formation in the image-receiving material of a silver image,wherein said image-receiving material contains in co-operable relationship: (i) physical development nuclei, (ii) a silver halide solvent being a silver complexing agent or precursor thereof, (iii) a watersoluble sulfite or sulfite precursor, and (iv) a mixture of sodium and/or potassium tetraborate and a sodium and/or potassium salt of an organic mono- or polycarboxylic acid, wherein the acid is characterized by at least one dissociation step corresponding at 25.degree. C. with a dissociation constant smaller than 10.sup.-2.5, in other words a pKa value higher than 2.5.
