摘要： An improved roll-form vent for buildings comprises a sequentially thermoformed polymeric vent which provides multiple venting air flow paths between the interior of a building and ambient atmosphere. The vent includes projections extending from a web and a plurality of vent openings that cooperate with screening to bar entry into the building of water, insects and foreign matter. A method of making the vent includes steps of providing a web of material of indeterminate running length, heating the web, sequentially thermoforming the web, cooling the web and rolling the formed vent for storage, shipment and use.

摘要： An advanced aerodynamic control system for a wind turbine including a drive shaft and blade. The control system includes an air control system coupled to a duct that extends from a first end toward a second end of the blade. A slot extends along a portion of a surface of the blade and is in communication with the duct. An instrument measures operating data of the wind turbine. A controller collects the operating data and compares the operating data to predetermined operating norms. The controller actuates the air control system to urge pressurized air into the duct and out of the slot at a specific air flow rate based upon the comparison between the operating data and predetermined operating norms. Control of the flow rate aids in capture of power from the wind flowing through a swept area of the wind turbine.

摘要： A roll-form roof ridge vent having alignment means to facilitate ease of installation. The indeterminate-length, single-sheet vent is provided with a pliable medial hinge strip, or a set of expandable live hinges, which enable the otherwise straight vent to be laterally and/or angularly repositioned from its substantially straight configuration. Thus, lateral adjustments can be made to the positioning of the vent as it is being installed so that the vent is centered throughout its length over the roof ridge. The lateral adjustments do not result in buckling of the vent or unwanted distortion.

摘要： The present invention relates to a laminate, adapted to be used as in a roof ridge vent construction, which comprises (a) a matting layer comprising randomly convoluted polymeric filaments, a portion of the matting layer comprising a plurality of truncated pyramidal cusps, with at least one outwardly extending edge portion of the matting layer which is planar with one surface of the matting layer; and (b) a fabric backing bonded to the matting layer and extending outwardly and being bonded to the outwardly extending, planar edge portion of that matting layer.

摘要： A do-it-yourself kit for retrofitting without special tools protective weatherproof cladding on an existing door or window frame assembly. Three elongate one-piece sections of extruded plastic are prefabricated in transverse cross section to match the profile of the exterior exposed surfaces of two sides and the header of the frame assembly. Lengthwise portions of each section are folded to grip and secure under friction door stop or sash guide surfaces of the frame assembly. Tabs extending from mitered upper ends of the side sections underlap mitered ends of the header section. Templates are included in the kit for cutting the lower ends of the side sections to match the profile of the door threshold or window sill.
