    摘要: A powder inhaler comprising: a powder housing for holding a supply of powdered material to be dispensed and a metering plate for holding a metered amount of said powdered material, the metering plate being alternately positionable below said supply of powdered material or within an inhalation conduit, by means of a bi-directional, angle-limited relative rotation about a common central axis; a counter for providing a visual count of the number of doses of said powdered material that have been dispensed or remain to be dispensed in response to the relative rotation, the counter including: a continuous counter ring and a coaxially mounted intermittent counter ring, both rings being mounted on a base in surrounding relation to a retaining post, being rotatable about the common central axis and having counting indicia thereon for displaying said visual count; and a display means through which at least one of the counting indicia is displayed to indicate a count corresponding to a number of doses of powdered material that have been dispensed or remain to be dispensed.

    摘要: A powder dispenser includes a powder housing for holding a supply of powdered material to be dispensed, the powder housing including an inhalation conduit provided displaced relation to the powdered material supply; a metering plate including a metered dose hole for holding a metered amount of the powdered material, and positioned below the powdered material supply, the metering plate and the powder housing being relatively rotatable with respect to each other about a common central axis; a counter providing a visual count of the number of doses of the powdered material that have been dispensed or remain to be dispensed in response to the relative rotation, the counter including counter rings providing the visual count, the counter rings being rotatable about the common central axis and having indicia thereon which display the visual count, and an actuating mechanism rotatable about the central axis for incrementally rotating the counter rings in response to the relative rotation; a nozzle for breaking up agglomerates of powdered material from the inhalation conduit to form micronized powdered material, the nozzle including a cavity for changing the direction of flow of the powder from the direction of the inhalation conduit to a second different direction, and a curved wall for substantially continuously changing the direction of flow of the powder in a spiral manner in the second direction in the cavity; and a closure cap covering the powder housing and priming the powder dispenser for use automatically upon removal thereof.

    摘要: A system for customizing individual internet access includes a server that registers a user with the system, stores information pertaining to internet sites the user is authorized to access, and controls the user's access to internet sites. A carding station is provided to enter personal identification information about the user and information regarding internet sites the user is authorized to access into the system. The carding station also generates a personal smart card for the user that includes a read only memory storing a serial number that correlates with data about the user stored in the server. An internet station is provided to allow the user to view the internet only with his or her personal smart card. While accessing the internet, the server controls the user's access to internet sites based on whether the information stored in the server indicates that the user is authorized to access the specific internet sites that are requested to be displayed. A secure sockets layer protocol provides security for the data transferred across the internet connection.

    摘要: A solar reflector for an evaporator in a heat pump system. The evaporator has heat transfer plates and is located in an outdoor environment. The solar reflector has a curved surface configured to reflect solar radiation to the heat transfer plates of the evaporator. The curved surface can be in the shape of a truncated parabola. The curved surface can also be curved in a dish-like shape defining an upper perimeter and a lower perimeter, and the lower perimeter defines a bottom opening configured to receive the evaporator. The solar reflector can also be made of a plurality of partially overlapping curved surfaces configured to reflect solar radiation to the heat transfer plates of the evaporator. In this case the solar reflector includes a hinge ring, and each of the curved surfaces are hingedly attached to the hinge ring. Preferably the hinge ring defines an opening to receive the evaporator.

    摘要: A flash freezer and process is described in which a freezer cabinet is configured to be positioned within the refrigerated air compartment of a primary freezer. An internal flash freeze compartment is located within the cabinet next to a plenum which is separated from the flash freeze compartment by a bulkhead. A plurality of first air passage apertures is formed through the bulkhead to permit passage of air between the flash freeze compartment and the plenum. A plurality of second air passage apertures is formed through a cabinet wall opposite to the bulkhead. The air passage apertures are arranged to control passage of refrigerated air under pressure from the refrigerated air compartment to direct a uniform pressurized airflow through the flash freeze compartment and over the articles placed therein.

    摘要: A heat pump includes a compressor having an inlet and an outlet, an indoor heat exchanger and an outdoor heat exchanger, and an outdoor thermal expansion valve. The heat pump further includes an auxiliary heat exchanger. An auxiliary fluid line and an auxiliary fluid pump circulate an auxiliary heat transfer fluid through the auxiliary fluid line. The compressor outlet, the indoor heat exchanger, the outdoor thermal expansion valve, the auxiliary heat exchanger, the outdoor heat exchanger, and the compressor inlet can be placed in respective serial fluid communication to thereby circulate a refrigerant fluid through the heat pump. The auxiliary heat exchanger is configured to exchange heat between the refrigerant fluid and the auxiliary heat transfer fluid. The auxiliary fluid line is in thermal energy communication with a primary source of auxiliary heat. Preferably, the primary source of auxiliary heat is a fluid contained within a septic tank.
