A cylindrical roll is rotatably mounted in the opening of the container and an endless sealing strip of resilient material is pressed against the roll. The sealing strip has two straight portions, each arranged parallel to the axis of the roll. The sealing strip also has two circular portions near each end of the roll which join the ends of the straight portions. The web material is passed between the sealing strip and the surface of the roll.

摘要： A sealing means which includes a main roller having a portion of its cylindrical area positioned adjacent to an aperture in a tank which holds a fluid (either liquid or vapor) which is to be applied to a web of material as it passes through the tank and over the main roller. An endless elastic sealing strip is positioned on the main roller and surrounds the aperture, providing a fluid seal. The sealing strip is held in position by a cylindrical channel which is secured to the tank. Additional rollers may be used to enter the material into the tank and reverse its direction.
