摘要:
The present invention provides the composition of the modified RAP-recycled warm mix asphalt, whose composition is characterized as consisting of a mixed asphalt concrete mix, a cohesive agent, a recycling modifier, a plasticized warm mix additive, and if necessary, reinforcing agent will be added to the composition. The aforementioned composition can be mixed to produce the modified RAP-recycled warm mix asphalt. This invention is characterized in reusing a great portion of RAP compared to the less use in the existing practice. The use of a recycling modifier improves further better performance properties to extend the life cycle of recycled asphalt pavements, compared to the conventional virgin asphalt pavements as well as the existing recycling ones. The plasticized warm mix additives offer economic, social, and technical advantages by saving the fuel consumption required for production, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and shorten traffic opening times.
摘要:
The first priority of this invention is to provide the composition and the manufacturing method of a novel highly visco-elastic warm-mix modifier that can be added to asphalt binders for the purpose of reducing environmental pollution, saving natural resources by recycling RAP aggregates, reducing construction cost, and minimizing maintenance cost by extending pavement life-cycle. The highly visco-elastic warm-mix modifier may be manufactured by adding highly viscous and general purpose polymers to elastic polymers in the warm mix modifier. Warm mix additives, including waxes, oils and elastic materials, may also be introduced to the highly visco-elastic warm-mix modifier. In more details, the invention is characterized to manufacture the novel modified recycled (or regular) warm-mix asphalt concrete mixture by heating and mixing 0.5-20 weight parts of the highly visco-elastic warm-mix modifier.

摘要:
A hot mix asphalt (HMA) or warm mix asphalt (WMA) plant features material transfer by shear action of segmented screws and directional flights standing on an inner drum. Indirect convective material heating is initiated by a heating source located inside of the inner drum. Material mixing, heating, melting, and uniform coating, all take place as a single simultaneous process. As the result of processing, regular HMA (or WMA) or up to 100% RAP (or ARS) recycled HMA (or WMA) can be produced. Many heat sources, such as a conventional oil burner and the surface combustion burner, may also be utilized in the plant. The plant may be combined with paving units for an integrated, mobile paving system.
