摘要： A self-advancing support apparatus for protecting mine gate crossings, and optionally for engaging the reversing/driving head of a longwall and/or gate conveyor. The support apparatus has at least two side by side desired construction but expediently of a construction identical with that of the support unit at the longwall face to which said unit is connected via a coupling element. Each unit includes a base, a canopy, and connected between them, expediently by articulation, bracing elements as well as advancing elements and holding devices mounted on the base, and if so desired, for advancing the reversing/driving head of the longwall conveyor, a guide track extending in the direction of the gate conveyor, and an actuating/controlling unit. A holding mechanism is provided for engaging the reversing/driving head of the longwall conveyor and has at least two degrees of freedom of movement. An extendible cantilever is connected to the canopy, and at least one device for directional guidance connects the units together and expediently is in the form of a jack.

摘要： The invention concerns an advanceable shield support assembly for longwall mining. The assembly has a pivotable main roof cap housing a retractable and extensible auxiliary roof cap. Normally the main roof cap supports the roof and the auxiliary one is retracted. However, before the assembly is advanced, the auxiliary roof cap is extended to support the roof section between the working face and the front edge of the main roof cap. The movement of the auxiliary roof cap, and the force with which it engages the roof section, are controlled by cooperating guide tracks and track-engaging elements capable of exerting a wedging action.

摘要： A mine excavator especially for heavy coal beds comprises a base on which the power loader and conveyor are provided and on which the roof support or shield is pivotally mounted. According to the invention, a back member connected to the roof plate and spaced above the base has a downwardly and forwardly swingable door which deposits caved material onto the conveyor at a forward portion of the main base.
