摘要： A shipping carton which contains other product cartons is designed so that it can be cut open with a knife without exposing the contained product cartons to damage by the knife. At least one side wall of the shipping carton is inwardly bowed so that the inner product cartons will be shifted away from the edges of the bowed side wall thereby leaving an internal void adjacent to the edges of the bowed side wall. A knife can be inserted through the edges of the bowed side wall into the void to cut the shipping carton without cutting the inner product cartons.

摘要： A corner post made of folded corrugated paperboard is inserted into the corner areas of cartons containing, for example, large appliances, such as stoves, refrigerators, washing machines, or the like. The corner post is a multi ply device which ensures that there will be adequate space between the appliance and the carton wall, and which provides strength for the carton so that multiple filled cartons can be stacked on top of each other. The post is provided with fold lines which are made up of alternating cuts and scores to provide for easy folding of the post. The post is machine folded and glued to a flattened form which is suitable for bulk shipment. The post is easily transformed from the flattened to the erected form and inserted into the corner areas of the cartons.

The side panel has a first fold line attached to the top face and a second fold line attached to the bottom face, wherein the side panel has a third fold line defining a first area and a second area and wherein the first area defines a trapezoid. In other embodiments, the first area may be a rectangle, a five sided area defined by a rectangle and either a trapezoid or a rounded gusset area. In addition there is disclosed a bag that is convertible into an eating surface. The convertible bag has a top face and a bottom face with each having a first edge and a second edge. A pair of side panels are attached to the side panels along the first and second edges so that they extend substantially perpendicular with respect to the top and bottom faces. The top face is detachable from the first and second side panels so that an eating surface defined by the bottom surface and the first and second side panels is revealed, wherein the first and second side panels are substantially perpendicular with respect to the bottom face.

摘要： A box for storing files is formed from a single blank of paperboard. The blank consists of a centrally located bottom wall panel having side wall panels foldably connected thereto. Each of the centrally located bottom wall panel and side wall panels have an end wall panel extending from a transverse edge thereof so that when the side wall panels are folded 90.degree. relative to the bottom wall panel, the end wall panels on the transverse edges of the side walls and bottom wall can be overlapped and locked together. Connected to the outer longitudinal edges of each of the side wall panels is a top wall panel substantially half the width of the centrally located bottom panel. The top wall panels are adapted to be folded 90.degree. relative to the side walls to form a cover for the box. Longitudinally extending tabs extend from the transverse edges of each of the top wall panels and can be inserted within an opening in the end walls to lock the top wall panels in place on the box.

摘要： A paperboard clamshell carton includes a tray and a cover, hingedly connected and latched in the closed position by cooperating latching members. Detents, extending forwardly from adjacent the upper corners of the front wall of the tray, and detent engaging slots and tabs in the cover, located adjacent the lower corners of the front wall of the cover, releasably engage when the cover is folded shut over the tray. The forwardly extending detents are of double thickness, being formed by overlapped extensions of the glue flaps and side walls of the tray.
