摘要： In the hopper of a cigarette making machine the tobacco slides down a ramp into a narrow downwardly extending channel situated at a position spaced from the area in the hopper which initially receives the tobacco. The tobacco is fed upwardly from that area by a spiked elevator band and is then removed from the spiked elevator band and transferred to the downwardly extending channel by further conveyor means.

摘要： A cigarette making machine includes at least one transfer wheel for transferring the filler stream onto the wrapper web, and air guide vanes extending in approximately tangential directions towards the transfer wheel. As a result, the vanes arrest any particles of tobacco which fly off the wheel, and air streams induced by the suction in the wheel tend to return the particles to the wheel with a forward component of motion.

摘要： Cigarettes, as they are grouped in batches to be packed, have their ends detected for firmness or for missing filter tips, by having an array of individually actuated plungers (9) applied to their ends. Each plunger is actuated by air pressure acting on a piston (13) integral with the plunger. If a cigarette (C) is faulty a protuberance (21) on the plunger engages a common impingement plate (20), whose oscillation causes a piezoelectric transducer (22) to emit a fault signal, enabling that cigarette group subsequently to be rejected.

摘要： A trimming device for trimming the cigarette filler stream in a cigarette making machine comprises a first fixed blade and a first rotating brush member which cooperate to remove from the tobacco stream tobacco lying further than a first predetermined distance from the tobacco conveyor; a second fixed blade and a second rotating brush member which are situated upstream or downstream of the first blade and brush member and cooperate to remove tobacco at regular spaced intervals corresponding to portions of the stream forming intermediate sections of the filler for each finished cigarette, the second blade being set at a second predetermined distance from the tobacco conveyor which is smaller than the first predetermined distance.
