Abstract:
An adjustable transition duct support system for a transition duct that channels hot gases from a combustor exit to a gas turbine inlet of a turbine engine. The adjustable transition duct support system includes an adjustable forward transition flexible support assembly in contact with a transition duct body, whereby the forward transition flexible support assembly may be formed from a base extending toward the transition duct body and first and second side support arms extending from the base to the transition duct body. The first and second side support arms may be formed from a plurality of flex plates spaced from each other with spacers that provide rigidity in circumferential and radial directions and flexibility in an axial direction. The number of flex plates used may be varied to accommodate different turbine engines. The adjustable transition duct support system may have natural frequencies for circumferential and radial modes above two engine orders.
Abstract:
The representation of content, in a scene representation, is enriched with a view to the adaptive use of the latter according to a set of common parameters. A sub-graph of the scene graph, which is susceptible to variable processing, is identified. For this purpose, two new types of scene element can be defined, one of which allows the identification of the sub-graph and the second enables application of the set of common parameters in relation to the sub-graph. An example of the first type is a node of so-called “AdaptivityControl” type which encompasses the entire sub-graph, a list of the nodes describing the set of common parameters and a group of fields for dynamic updating of the content of this node. An example of the second type is a node of so-called “CompressedImageStrategy” type which comprises information relating to the object to be coded and the coding parameters.
Abstract:
In an embodiment, there is a turret pocket key that includes a first slider block, a second slider block, a third slider block and a fourth slider block. The slider blocks are retained such that the slider blocks are adapted to move relative to one another, the key is adapted to move the first slider block and/or the fourth slider block to draw the first slider block and the fourth slider block relatively towards each other, and when the first slider block and the fourth slider block are drawn relatively towards each other, the second slider block and the third slider block move outward in a direction normal to the relative direction of movement of the first slider block towards the fourth slider block.
Abstract:
A gas-turbine burner having a plurality of main swirl generators which each have an inlet flow opening formed by the main swirl generator edge is provided. In order to achieve a uniform flow of combustion air through the main swirl generator, the gas-turbine burner has an inlet-flow guide means with a flow guide surface which runs from one of the inlet-flow openings to an adjacent inlet-flow opening, to which the main swirl generator edges which form the inlet-flow openings are connected, and the flow guide surface widens from there radially upwards. The main swirl generators are central-symmetrically arranged around a pilot burner and the flow guide surface runs radially outside the main swirl generators.
Abstract:
A system and device that measures the cargo load securing tension upon a tensionable cargo load securing line including but not limited to a woven web, belt, or cord, with a ratchet tension, and conveys tension information to a remote location is presented. Utilized is an “indirect” form of tension information conveyance, that being radio, light or sound, or a “direct” form of signal conveyance, that being wire or vehicle ground system or vehicle frame. Various remote locations may receive a conveyed tension signal. They may include receiver devices located within transportation vehicle power unit cab, visual display on anterior portion of haul unit, transportation operator wrist or clothing mounted device, satellite linked management or office facility, associated convoy vehicle cab or operator, or other. Cab and operator tension display devices may provide array of tension analysis recording and view and travel assist options.
Abstract:
A disposable, non servicable, illuminating electrical adapter (205) that quickly illuminates and attaches to a conventional electrical plug (285) and functions to illuminate both an electrical receptacle 220 and the adapter face itself for the purpose of locating and safely inserting electrical adapter between electrical plug and an electrical receptacle. Additional features include opaque 255 and translucent 260 image applications that enable the adapter 205 to function as a combination promotional/awareness generating product and also a safety promoting, useful tool.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a sensor comprising a medium and, disposed therein, a hologram, wherein an optical characteristic of the medium changes as a result of a variation in a physical property of the medium, wherein the fringes of the hologram are formed by silver grains and wherein the medium comprises a material which does not bind silver. The brightness and sensitivity of such holographic sensors is increased as a result of reduction in the levels of unwanted (“background”) silver binding.
Abstract:
A burnishing tool including a tapered cam shaft including a camming surfaces having a planar spatial orientation substantially the same as the planar spatial orientation of sides of a pyramid, wherein respective keys respectively extend along respective camming surfaces of the tapered cam shaft, the keys having respective longitudinal axis of extensions parallel to the respective camming surfaces and lying in respective planes normal to the planar spatial orientations of the respective camming surfaces, wherein the camming surfaces are arrayed about a cam shaft axis that is normal to a plane that is parallel to a base of the pyramid. The burnishing tool further includes a burnishing assembly, the burnishing assembly includes segmented burnishing components including respective cammed surfaces positioned on the tapered cam shaft adjacent respective camming surfaces. These segmented burnishing components include mate with the cam shaft.
Abstract:
A machine arrangement that operates on a plurality of articles, such as bottles, includes a plurality of machines arranged in a machine arrangement. At least one of the machines includes an apparatus configured to modify the articles by at least one of moving, holding, manipulating and shaping the articles as they pass from an article infeed to an article discharge of the machine arrangement. A recirculation mechanism moves articles from a downstream machine after a first pass (or run) and recirculates the articles back to an upstream machine in a second (recirculation) pass (or run) so that the articles, which are recirculated through the second pass are again subjected to a different machine modifying operation in at least one machine that the articles have previously passed in the first pass. The articles move continuously through the first and second passes while being subjected to at least one machine modifying operation.
