摘要: A mobile tibial assembly includes a tibial tray and a tibial insert. The tibial tray includes a track that is defined in an upper surface, and the track has a bottom wall that is flat in the medial-lateral direction and convex in the anterior-posterior direction. The tibial insert includes a bottom bearing surface configured to contact the upper surface of the tibial tray and a stem including a circular neck connected to the bottom bearing surface. The bottom bearing surface has a surface area that is less than the cross-sectional area of the circular neck. The convex upper surface of the tibial tray contacts the concave bottom bearing surface of the tibial insert and the tibial insert is freely rotatable about a central axis defined by the stem as the tibial insert is moved along the track relative to the tibial tray in the generally anterior-posterior direction.

摘要: An uninterruptable power supply includes a rechargeable battery, having a positive terminal and a negative terminal, and a transformer. The transformer includes a battery side transformer winding having a first terminal, a second terminal and a third terminal; a load side transformer winding inductively coupled to the battery side transformer winding via a core; and a power supply side transformer winding that is inductively coupled to the battery side transformer winding via the core. An inverter bridge circuit couples the positive terminal of the battery to the first terminal of the battery side transformer winding and couples the negative terminal of the battery to the second terminal and the third terminal of the battery side transformer winding. The inverter bridge circuit includes a switching circuit that forms a bridge circuit that allows current from the battery side transformer winding to flow in only one direction into the battery when the switching circuit is in a first switching state so that current from the power supply slide transformer winding induces an alternating current in the battery side transformer winding that passes through the bridge circuit to generate a direct current that charges the battery when the switching circuit is in the first switching state. The switching circuit also forms an inverter circuit that generates an alternating current from a direct current supplied by the battery when the switching circuit is in a second switching state, thereby inducing an alternating current in the load side transformer winding. A control circuit drives the switching circuit into the first switching state when at least a predetermined power level is supplied to the power side transformer winding. The control circuit also drives the switching circuit into the second switching state when less than the predetermined power level is supplied to the power side transformer winding.

摘要: A unicompartmental mobile tibial assembly includes a tibial tray and a tibial insert. The tibial tray includes an upper surface and a bottom surface configured to contact a portion of a surgically-prepared surface of the proximal end of a tibia. The tibial insert includes an upper bearing surface configured to contact a surgically-prepared surface of the distal end of a femur and a bottom bearing surface configured to contact the upper surface of the tibial tray when the tibial insert is coupled to the tibial tray. Any one or more of the upper surface of the tibial tray, the bottom surface of the tibial tray, and/or the bottom bearing surface of the tibial insert may be non-planar.

摘要: Surgical instruments for use in minimally invasive surgery are described. The instruments have parts that are easily separable and easily assembled. A reciprocal slide member is operable by a cam portion of a lever received in a slot in the slide member. There is no mechanical connection between the lever and the slide member. The slide member is connected to elongate surgical implement components that extend through an elongate support member. The elongate surgical implement components are capable of reciprocal movement in the proximal-distal direction. In some embodiments, the elongate surgical implements can be used for measuring distances arthroscopically; these surgical implements can have beveled ends for more precise measurement of distances. The surgical instrument can be modular, with separate tool and actuator modules. The surgical instrument can be used with any implement that can be operated by reciprocal motion.
