Abstract: A refrigerator includes a refrigerator housing having an open upper end. Fitted beneath the open upper end are a removable cooling unit which has an inlet opening and an outlet opening both in communication with the interior of the refrigerator. The cooling unit draws air into the cooling unit, cools the air, and recirculates it into the refrigerator. The cooling unit can be removed from the lower front end of the housing for repair, and can be replaced with a similar unit so that the refrigerator can continue to be used.

Abstract: A sanitizing block for cleaning the blade of a food product slicer is manufactured from an inert material, such as cellulose sponge, which does not crumble nor dull the blade of the slicer when positioned on the carriage and sliced in the normal manner as would be used for a chunk of meat or cheese. The sanitizing block is preferably pre-moistened with a sanitizing solution to aid in the cleaning of the slicer and blade. The sanitizing block is useful as a compliment to the normal cleaning procedures of the slicer which often require disassembly of the slicer and washing of the component parts. The sanitizing block reduces food-born bacteria and minimizes carryover flavors from previously sliced items by removing residue remaining on the blade and slicer.

Abstract: A trap catches multiple iguanas and/or other nuisance animals in one setting. The trap may include a larger confinement volume having a one-way entry door on at least one side and in other embodiments on all sides that remain active no matter how many iguanas are in the trap. The entry door is designed such that once the iguana has started through the door it cannot turn back. Access to remove the iguanas is also provided. A large bait station that can hold several days of bait and be easily rebaited with minimal contact with the trap is also provided. An auxiliary cage may be coupled to the trap to off-load captured iguanas without moving the primary trap.

Abstract: A monitoring, tracking, and calibration system tracks temperature data and the validity of temperature measuring devices. If an item is temperature sensitive, the system permits temperature readings to be taken by a remote transmitter or other temperature measuring device and stored by a computer. A calibration device is built into the remote transmitter or attached in line to a temperature sensor and include at least one fixed value. The remote transmitter samples that fixed value periodically or in response to an instruction from the computer. The computer, in turn, compares the fixed value to a respective expected value. If the comparison indicates that the fixed value compares favorably to the at least one respective expected value, the remote transmitter is considered calibrated and functioning correctly. Otherwise, the remote transmitter is considered faulty and an error is reported so that corrective action may be taken.
