    摘要: A printing apparatus which is capable of appropriately discharging extra tab sheets, without placing the burden of removing the extra tab sheets on a user even in the case of attaching tab sheets into sheets to be subjected to reverse-order printing. An MFP controller determines a number of tab sheets to be attached to one copy of the printout of a print job. After causing discharge of extra tab sheets corresponding in number to a difference between the determined number and a number of tab sheets forming one set are discharged, the MFP causes the printout of the print job to be discharged starting with an N-th sheet.

    摘要: A hand pattern switch device capable of easily and reliably detecting a hand pattern or a palm motion of an operator. From a picked-up image of a distal arm, an axis passing through the centroid of a hand is determined as a central axis passing through the center of arm. At least either first scanning lines perpendicular to the central axis or second scanning lines extending along the central axis are set between a fingertip and a palm center. While changing the scanning line to be examined from the fingertip side toward the palm center, a determination is made to determine how many number of scanning lines for each of which a finger width equal to or larger than a predetermined width is detected are present, thereby making a detection of whether or not the finger is extended from the palm.

The control unit performs control so as to discharge a surplus tab sheet of a number corresponding to a difference between the N and the M after discharging an M-th tab sheet and before discharging a remaining print document to be discharged by performing the print job, during printing of the print document corresponding to the one print document set in the print job.

    摘要: An image forming device is provided which is capable of printing paper fingerprint data encoded into code data on a paper sheet without inducing significant degradation of printing performance due to the slowing of the printing speed. In order to halt paper sheet transport until the processing of sending composite image data, including paper fingerprint data, to a printer has completed, a control component issues to a paper sheet transport control component instructions to halt paper sheet transport temporarily after the scanning of paper fingerprint. The paper sheet transport control component halts paper sheet transport after receiving these instructions. Subsequently, when composite image data is sent to the printer and is ready to be printed on the paper sheet, the control component issues to the paper sheet transport control component instructions to resume paper sheet transport. The paper sheet transport control component resumes paper sheet transport after receiving these instructions.

    摘要: A hand pattern switch device recognizes a hand pattern from an image of a hand in an image pickup zone and detects a hand motion. One of controlled objects is selected based on the recognized hand pattern and/or hand motion. In accordance with the selected object, a mode of detection of operation information based on hand motion is changed. In a moved distance detecting mode, a moved distance of the hand in the zone is detected as operation information, and in a stop time detecting mode, a stop time of the hand at a stop position to which the hand has been moved in the zone is detected as operation information. The image pickup zone is at a location which is located laterally to a steering wheel and to which a driver can extend his/her arm without changing a driving posture.
