The subject matter of the invention relates to an assembly system with fastening stud as well as to a method of forming an assembly system. The assembly system comprises a fastening stud (1) and an assembly part (20) mounted on the fastening stud (1). The assembly part (20) has a receiving space (21) for receiving the fastening stud (1). When the assembly part (20) has been mounted, the inner surfaces of the receiving space (21) and the outer surface of the fastening stud (1) are frictionally connected to one another. The fastening stud (1) has a frontal opening. The fastening stud (1) is radially resilient at least in the region of the opening. The assembly system comprises a clamping member (14) which, after the assembly part (20) has been mounted onto the fastening stud (1), is movable from a first position outside of the fastening stud (1) into a second position inside the fastening stud (1) so that the clamping member (14) in the second position is insertable without clearance or with little clearance into the opening.

To prevent deformation of the metal sheet, a torque ranging from 8 to 10 Nm inclusive is applied to an 6 mm diameter cap nut and a torque ranging from 20 to 23 Nm inclusive is applied to a 8 mm diameter cap nut, the torque selectable to prevent pullout of the contact stud from the workpiece. The cap nut serves a first function of sealing against paint penetration into the electrical contact region and a second function of creating electrical contact between the contact shoe and the stud.

The fastening device consists of a U-shaped base body in which a rod-shaped article can be arranged and which can be connected to the substrate, and of a beam-shaped closure member with which the arms of the "U" can be closed. One end of the beam-shaped closure member can be connected to the base body via a catch connection with teeth. At the other end of the beam-shaped closure member there is shaped a joint lug which forms a hinge-like joint with a joint pin shaped on the base body. The fastening of the article can be achieved after a rod-shaped article has been inserted into the base body by pivoting the closure member and engagement on the opposite end of the joint. Different diameter articles can be fastened on account of the teeth.
