The odor absorbing substance absorbs odors emitting from that portion of the person which is substantially surrounded by the clothing. Reduction of odors emitting from a person wearing the article of clothing will help to avoid detection of the wearer of the article of clothing by many species of wildlife having an acute sense of smell.
