    摘要: This disclosure relates in general to a method and system for controlling a drilling system for drilling a borehole in an earth formation. More specifically, but not by way of limitation, embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for controlling dynamic interactions between the drilling system for drilling the borehole and an inner surface of the borehole being drilled to steer the drilling system to directionally drill the borehole. In another embodiment of the present invention, data regarding the functioning of the drilling system as it drills the borehole may be sensed and interactions between the drilling system for drilling the borehole and an inner surface of the borehole may be controlled in response to the sensed data to control the drilling system as the borehole is being drilled.

    摘要: The disclosure has application for use in conjunction with an operation of drilling an earth borehole using: a drilling rig, a drill string having its generally upper end mechanically coupleable with and suspendable from the drilling rig, and a bottom hole assembly adjacent the lower end the drill string, the bottom hole assembly including a drill bit at its lower end. A method is set forth for obtaining information about at least one parameter sensed at the bottom hole assembly, including the following steps: providing at least one measuring device in the bottom hole assembly, the at least one measuring device producing measurement data representative of a measured condition at the bottom hole assembly; providing an uphole processor system at the earth's surface; providing a drill string telemetry system coupled with the at least one measuring device and coupled with the uphole processor system; and transmitting the data from the measuring device to the uphole processor system via the drill string telemetry system.

    摘要: A gyroscope system comprises a dual-axis rate gyroscope (1) including angle pick-offs and rotor torque applying device (5), and a control circuit (3) arranged to supply a control signal to the rotor torque applying device (5) in accordance with the output angle sensed by the angle pick-offs. The system further comprises an angular acceleration sensor (2) which is independent of the dual-axis rate gyroscope and is arranged to output a signal to the control circuit (3). The signal modifies in accordance with the sensed angular acceleration the control signal supplied to the torque applying device (5). Preferably the angular acceleration sensor (2) forms part of a guidance system independent of the dual-axis rate gyroscope (1).
