    摘要: An identification system includes a reader and one or more tags. The reader identifies tags such as radio frequency (RF) tags. The system divides a number space into n bins, wherein each bin is associated with m unique bits of the number space, and the number space contains the identification codes of the tags. A command is issued to test v bits of the number space. A response is received from a tag, wherein the response occurs when a first portion of an identification code of the tag matches the v bits of the number space. A timing of the response corresponds to a particular bin and m unique bits associated with the particular bin correspond to a second portion of the identification code.

    摘要: A switch status monitoring system (10) includes a switch signal processor (16) that operates in either of a supervised mode or an unsupervised mode for each monitored switch (12). Selection of the operating mode is made via configuration data provided to the switch signal processor, for example, from an applications processor (20). In this manner, reconfiguration of the mode of monitoring, supervised or unsupervised, of any particular switch within a system is accomplished by providing revised configuration data and without changes or modifications to the switch signal processor hardware. As will be appreciated, the present invention has application in for example door or window monitoring systems and in other similar security system applications.

    摘要: A wireless keyboard or keypad (22) is powered remotely by a radio frequency exciter/receiver (20) and used in a radio frequency identification system (10). The wireless keyboard and the exciter/receiver communicate without wires via electrostatic or electromagnetic radiation. No power source is integrated with the wireless keypad. Thus, the wireless keypad is readily added to, or retrofit into, an existing radio frequency identification system. The keyboard has a plurality of keys (24) or control members that are manually actuated. Depression of a key or button, or other actuation of a control member, causes a predetermined response signal associated with that key to be generated. The response signal relates to an operation for a device or system associated with the exciter/receiver.
