摘要: A system includes a pressure exchanger (PX) to receive a first fluid at a first pressure, second fluid at a second pressure, and exchange pressure between the first fluid and the second fluid. The first fluid is to exit the PX at a third pressure and the second fluid is to exit the PX at a fourth pressure. A first condenser is to receive the first fluid from a compressor and provide thermal energy from the first fluid to a first environment. A second condenser is to receive the second fluid from the PX and provide thermal energy from the second fluid to a second environment. A heat exchanger is to receive the first fluid from the first condenser and the second fluid from the second condenser, provide thermal energy from the first fluid to the second fluid, and provide the first fluid to the PX.

摘要: A fluid handling system includes a pressure exchanger (PX) configured to receive a first fluid at a first pressure and a second fluid at a second pressure and exchange pressure between the first fluid and the second fluid. The system further includes a condenser configured to provide corresponding thermal energy from the first fluid to a corresponding environment. The system further includes a receiver to receive the first fluid output by the PX. The receiver forms a chamber to separate the first fluid into a first gas and a first liquid. The system further includes a first booster to increase pressure of a portion of the first gas to form the second fluid at the second pressure and provide the second fluid at the second pressure to the PX.

The pressure exchanger further includes a floating piston configured to move within the duct between the first duct opening and the second duct opening to prevent mixing of a first fluid and a second fluid while exchanging pressure between the first fluid and the second fluid. The pressure exchanger further includes a first adapter plate configured to prevent the floating piston from exiting the duct at the first duct opening and a second adapter plate configured to prevent the floating piston from exiting the duct at the second duct opening. The first adapter plate forms a first aperture that directs the first fluid to the first duct opening and the second adapter plate forms a second aperture that directs the second fluid to the second duct opening.

摘要: A pressure exchanger includes a rotor, a seal plate, and a seal structure. The rotor is configured to exchange pressure between a first fluid and a second fluid. The seal plate has a first substantially planar seal plate surface and a second substantially planar seal plate surface disposed opposite the first substantially planar seal plate surface. A piston structure extends from the first substantially planar seal plate surface to form a substantially planar piston surface that has a surface area and is substantially parallel to the first substantially planar seal plate surface. The seal plate and the piston structure form a hydraulic chamber routed from a first opening formed by the substantially planar piston surface to a second opening formed by the second substantially planar seal plate surface. The seal structure is configured to couple the second substantially planar seal plate surface to a corresponding surface of the pressure exchanger.

The rotary pressure exchanger replaces a traditional bulk flow compressor. The rotary pressure exchanger is configured to receive the refrigerant at high pressure from the high pressure loop, to receive the refrigerant at low pressure from the low pressure loop, and to exchange pressure between the refrigerant at high pressure and the refrigerant at low pressure, and wherein a first exiting stream from the rotary pressure exchanger includes the refrigerant at high pressure in the supercritical state or the subcritical state and a second exiting stream from the rotary pressure exchanger includes the refrigerant at low pressure in the liquid state or the two-phase mixture of liquid and vapor.
