Abstract:
Embodiments herein provide a device for communicating in a wireless network, the device comprising a processor, a memory, and a radio, wherein the device is to communicate to an associated access point (AP) information that includes a Max Idle time period corresponding to a time period set within the AP during which the device may be in a power save mode without being disconnected from the AP and wherein in the power save mode, the device is to selectively transmit to the associated AP and selectively refrain from transmission to the associated AP.
Abstract:
A System and method for creation and transport of flows. The method includes transmitting an ADDFLOW request to a receiver to add the flow to the wireless network. The method also includes receiving a response message indicating that the flow will be added to the wireless network and delivering the flow to the wireless network. A given flow may be uniquely identified by the concatenation of a flow ID and a flow address. The flow address will always be either the transmitter's or receiver's MAC address. This method could be extended to compress any bit sequences that take on only a limited set of values.
Abstract:
Systems and methods provide a mechanism for wireless stations and access points to negotiate security parameters for protecting management frames. The access point and station determine which management frames they are capable of and desire to protect. Data indicating protected frames are then exchanged between the station and access point to select which management frames are to be protected and a protection mechanism to be used for protecting the management frames.
Abstract:
An embodiment of the present invention provides a method of pre-allocating and communicating IP address information during wireless communication by an access point, comprising pre-caching by said AP a predetermined number of IP addresses from a backend Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server. An embodiment may further comprise providing by said AP an IP subnet roaming information element that provides the IP Address that a wireless station (STA) will be obtaining if a wireless station (STA) roams to a particular AP and providing by said AP an IP subnet roaming information element that provides an IP subnet mask that determines the network address and host address portion of the IP addresses and providing by said AP provides an IP subnet roaming information element that provides that provides a Default gateway router address.
Abstract:
A system, apparatus, method and article to manage roaming in a wireless communication system are described. An apparatus may include a first wireless device having a processor to receive roaming information for a second wireless device from a third wireless device, and send the roaming information to the second wireless device to establish a connection with the third wireless device. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Abstract:
Devices and methods for observing characteristics of a wireless communication network environment and adjusting at least two different communication configuration parameters substantially at a same time based on the observed characteristics. The devices and methods may monitor radio resource measurements and initiate adaptive smarts for adjusting communication parameters of various protocol layers as a combination. Various other embodiments and features are also disclosed.
Abstract:
Embodiments of systems and methods for time domain multiplexing solutions for in-device coexistence are generally described herein. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
Abstract:
Certain embodiments herein relate to a dynamic pre-association between Neighbor Awareness Networking (NAN) discovery windows and fine timing measurement (FTM) communications. A wireless station may trigger An FTM procedure during a NAN discovery window by the transmission of a NAN Service Discovery Frame (SDF). In addition to the FTM communications, an indication of a discovery window for which a subsequent FTM communication is expected to occur is also transmitted. In some embodiments, an FTM range report may also be transmitted with the indication.
Abstract:
Techniques for implementing Wireless Gigabit (WiGig) Display Extension (WDE) communications as Wi-Fi Direct Services (WFDS) services are described. According to such techniques, WDE services may make use of primitives and events obtained from a WFDS application service platform (ASP). This application of WFDS to WDE may provide necessary mechanisms for layer 2 operations such as device and service discovery, P2P connection management, and session management. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Abstract:
In some embodiments, a first user device may synchronize a time associated with a second user device. The first user device may generate a neighbor awareness network (NAN) service discovery frame. The first user device may transmit the NAN service discovery frame to the second user device. The first user device may receive a request frame from the second user device based at least in part on transmitting the NAN service discovery frame, wherein the request frame comprises a request for ranging or location information from the first user device. The first user device may receive a NAN service discovery frame from the second user device, wherein the NAN service discovery frame comprises a request for ranging or location information from the first user device. The first user device may transmit a response frame comprising the ranging or location information in response to the received request frame.
