摘要: A process for forming a footed plastic container, comprising the steps of providing a preform having a neck portion with an open top end, an elongated cylindrical body portion with inner and outer walls and a lower end, wherein the lower end includes a plurality of thickened portions; providing a blow mold in the shape of a footed container having an elongated sidewall, wherein the blow mold includes a plurality of separate container foot forming cavities; inserting the preform into the blow mold; placing each of the thickened portions in a predetermined position relative to the foot forming cavities; and stretch blow molding the preform, and displacing material from each of the thickened portions into one of the foot forming cavities to form the plastic container.

摘要: The closure assembly includes: a container having an access opening; an inner closure with a rim attached to the container, a central portion covering the access opening, a weakened portion in the central portion, and a separably interlocking portion in the central portion, as a threaded portion; a removable closure covering the inner closure and separably interlocking the inner closure; whereby twisting the removable closure as by threading action on the inner closure breaks the inner closure at the weakened portion and opens the container. Also discloses a method for opening a closure assembly.

摘要: A method for producing a partitioned container of the present invention includes the steps of providing a preform having an interior surface; separately forming an inner wall for insertion into the preform; inserting the inner wall into the preform; preparing for molding and molding the preform and inner wall into the partitioned container; and activating a manner for securing the inner wall to the interior surface of the preform during the step of preparing. A system for forming a partitioned container in accordance with the present invention includes a preform including an interior surface surrounding a cavity; an inner wall formed separately from the preform, the inner wall including a manner for securing to the preform upon the application of heat thereto, and a molding device for molding the preform into the container. During preparation for molding of the preform into the container, the preform and inner wall are heated and the manner for securing is activated, thereby securing the inner wall to the interior surface.

摘要: A compression molding process for forming an article, preferably a preform or closure, is provided. The process includes the steps of forming thermoplastic resin into a precursor, wherein the precursor fits in a compression mold and has a shape for allowing the precursor to be supported in a predetermined or dimensionally preheld manner in a cavity of the compression mold prior to being compressed into a final shape, which shape is the shape of the compression mold; heating the precursor; and compression molding the precursor into the article while said precursor is heated. The step of forming may include the steps of extruding the resin into sheets; cutting discs from the sheets; and stacking the discs to form the precursors.

The process and apparatus includes back-to-back injection mold stations, back-to-back blow mold stations located on each side of and adjacent said injection mold stations in side-by-side relationship therewith, back-to-back ejection stations located adjacent each of said blow mold stations in side-by-side relationship, and blow cores cooperating with said injection stations and blow stations, wherein the operation of said cores is facilitated by an overlapping cycle.

摘要: Apparatus for the preparation of hollow plastic articles wherein a more rapid operating cycle is obtained with less effect upon the temperature of the parison. The apparatus includes a first core, means for providing a parison thereon, a temperature controlled first mold engageable with said first core and parison, means for separating the first core from the first mold and parison contained therein, a second core in spaced relationship to the first core, means for transferring the parison to the second core, a blow mold in spaced relationship to said first mold for fully expanding the parison and means for transferring the second core and parison to the blow mold, wherein the blow mold is stationary and the second core with parison thereon is brought into alignment with the blow mold and is inserted therein.

摘要: Method and apparatus for the preparation of hollow plastic articles wherein an improved injection blow molding process is obtained and improved temperature control of the parison is obtained by the use of a plurality of molds and cores. At least one temperature controlled mold and core is used to adjust the temperature of the parison. The temperature adjusted parison is then stretched and/or blown in at least one second mold by a second core, cooled therein and transferred by at least one third ejector core to additional finishing molds for further cooling or to removal means.
