Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer readable media for updating capabilities, where a station (STA) comprises processing circuitry configured to: transmit to an access point (AP) on a first channel of a first band, an association request including a first capabilities element for a first communications standard, decode, from the AP on the first channel of the first band, an association response, the association response including a second capabilities element for the first communications standard on the first band, transmit to the AP, a channel usage request frame with a third capabilities element for a second communications standard on a second channel of a second band, and encode for transmission to the AP on the second channel of the second band, a data frame using the third capabilities element and a fourth capabilities element received from the AP on the first channel on the first band.

Abstract: Technologies for multi-core wireless data transmission include a computing device having a processor with multiple cores and a wireless network interface controller (NIC). The computing device establishes multiple transmission queues that are each associated with a processor core. A driver receives a packet for transmission from an application in the execution context of the application, determines a current processor core of the execution context, adds metadata to the packet indicative of the current core, and enqueues the packet in the transmission queue associated with the current core. The wireless NIC merges the packet with packet data from the other transmission queues, adds a sequence number to each packet, and transmits each packet. The wireless NIC may determine the current processor core based on the metadata of the packet and raise an interrupt to the current processor core in response to transmitting the packet. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: Devices and methods of providing a NAN schedule update are generally described. NAN devices communicate data on a schedule of repeating time blocks in which transmission in different time blocks are on different channels. A public action frame indicates in a subfield that the frame is a schedule update frame. The schedule update frame provides attributes to have general schedule update for availability time, existing unicast service or existing multicast service. The schedule update frame also contains a schedule update control field that indicates in a subfield that the current time block is cancelled or extended or provides a general schedule update. The schedule update control field also indicates a reason for the schedule update.

Abstract: A multicast publisher and method of establishing multicast scheduling are provided. The publisher determines a schedule for a multicast service that is selected from time slots of a schedule candidate. The schedule candidate is set by the publisher that initiates the multicast group. The multicast group is one-to-many or many-to-many. A response to a request for the service is transmitted to a subscriber and contains the multicast schedule. The response indicates whether the service is available for unicast transmission in addition to multicast. A schedule selection policy for other multicast publishers joining the multicast group specifies that the other multicast publishers are to follow the multicast schedule acquired when joining the multicast group, use the multicast schedule candidate to determine a multicast schedule, or are free to choose a multicast schedule.

An apparatus of a responding station (RSTA) is disclosed, where the apparatus comprises processing circuitry configured to perform ranging with a initiating stations (ISTAs) and maintain a separate sounding dialogue token for each of the ISTAs and transmit a corresponding sounding dialogue token for a ISTA in a trigger frame for ranging and sounding or a null data packet announcement (NDPA) frame, and in a responding to initiating location measurement report. Apparatuses of RSTAs and ISTAS are disclosed that perform power control management during non-trigger-based ranging.

Abstract: A STA and method of providing a subscription policy are provided. The STA determines a subscription policy for a multicast, broadcast or unicast service and provides a policy comprising an indication that indicates active subscription (i.e. group joining is required) or no subscription (i.e. group joining is prohibited) or implicit subscription (i.e. group joining is implicit), dependent on network or subscription conditions. Updates to the policy are transmitted upon one or more thresholds are being reached. Subscribers re-subscribe to the service when the indication switches from implicit subscription to active subscription.

Abstract: Embodiments of a station (STA) and method for contention based communication are generally described herein. As part of a Neighborhood Awareness Network (NAN) communication, an originating STA may perform a group of one or more data transmissions to a destination STA during a current time block. The data transmissions may be performed in accordance with a NAN Data Link (NDL) between the originating STA and the destination STA. An initial data transmission of the group may be delayed, with respect to a determined idle period of the current time block, by a back-off interval selected in accordance with a starting contention window (CW) size. In some embodiments, the starting CW size may be based at least partly on a previous CW size used by the originating STA for a data transmission during a previous time block.

An originating STA may transmit, during a paging window of a paging Neighborhood Area Network Data Link (P-NDL) time block, a paging message that indicates an intention of the originating STA to transmit a data frame to a destination STA. The originating STA may receive, during a transmission window of the P-NDL time block, a trigger frame (TF) from the destination STA that indicates a request to receive the data frame from the originating STA. The originating STA may determine a contention window (CW) size to be used for transmission of the data frame to the destination STA. The CW size may be determined based on other TFs exchanged between other STAs during the transmission window.

Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to data path structure for multi-band operation. A neighbor awareness networking (NAN) device may determine a first NAN data link (NDL) associated with a first frequency band, a first processing core, and a first NAN management interface (NMI). The NAN device may determine a second NDL associated with a second frequency band, a second processing core, and a second NMI. The NAN device may send one or more multi-band indications of at least one of the first NMI or the second NMI, the one or more multi-band indications being indicative of at least one of the first frequency band or the second frequency band. The NAN device may establish a NAN data path (NDP) with a second NAN device using at least one of the first NDL or the second NDL.
