    摘要: An antenna system for generating and configuring at least one defocused beam is provided. The antenna system includes a reflector having a focal plane and a non-parabolic curvature for forming the at least one defocused beam, and a plurality of feed antennas that illuminate the reflector. Each feed antenna is disposed in the focal plane of the reflector. The antenna system further includes at least one incoming signal dividing network that divides at least one incoming signal into a plurality of sub-signals, each corresponding to one of the feed antennas, a plurality of variable phase shifters, each receiving one of the sub-signals from the incoming signal dividing network and phase shifting the sub-signal to generate a corresponding phase-shifted sub-signal, and a plurality of fixed-amplitude amplifiers, at least one corresponding to each of the feed antennas. The at least one amplifier for each feed antenna amplifies the corresponding phase-shifted sub-signal to generate an amplified phase-shifted sub-signal which is provided to the corresponding feed antenna.

    摘要: A satellite communications system is described for increasing capacity through spectrum reuse by multiple satellites. The system includes a constellation of satellites traveling in a geosynchronous orbit, where the geosynchronous orbit defines a ground track. The satellites operate in a first mode when traveling in a first latitudinal direction on the satellite track and in a second mode when traveling in a second latitudinal direction on the satellite track. By using different operation modes, satellites traveling in opposite latitudinal directions do not interfere with each other. Each of the satellites maintains a minimum spacing apart from other satellites moving in the same latitudinal direction to prevent interference from satellites using the same operation mode.

    摘要: A flash memory card is described which has a plurality of flash memories, each having a ready/busy output for indicating whether its respective one of the plurality of flash memories is busy or ready. A register circuit is provided for storing a plurality of mask data. A mode circuit is provided for choosing one of a first mode and a second mode, wherein a first mode signal is produced if the first mode is chosen and a second mode signal is produced if the second mode is chosen. A logic circuit is provided for performing logical operations with respect to the ready/busy output for each of the plurality of flash memories and the mask data in accordance with whether the first mode signal or the second mode signal is produced. If the first mode is chosen, the logic circuit produces a ready signal output for the flash memory card only if the ready/busy output of all the plurality of flash memories is ready. If the second mode is chosen, the logic circuit produces a ready signal output for the flash memory card each time any flash memory goes from being busy to being ready.

The radiator cap includes a central rivet for securing a crown, a bell housing, and a discoid spring and having a flared shank permitting free turning of the crown relative to the primary sealing gasket. The cap further includes a pressure spring nested within the bell housing and centered directly above an annular valve seat in the radiator filler neck. The upper turn of the spring nests in the shoulder region of the bell housing and the bottom turn biases a seal support plate against the annular valve seat. The seal support plate has an integrally formed cylinder having a lip which retains a vacuum seal in sealing relationship with the bottom surface of the seal support plate.

    摘要: A collapsible sawhorse having a bench and four legs extending outwardly therefrom at a fixed angle. All of the legs are hinged to the bench so as to be movable between an upright position and a collapsed, substantially flat position. An arm is pivotally mounted to the outer legs at opposite corners of the sawhorse and each arm terminates in an angular finger which mates with a U-shaped bracket extending from plates mounted to directly opposite legs. The sawhorse is secured in its upright position when the fingers mate with the U-shaped bracket and may be folded when the fingers are released from the bracket. A tool holder is hinged to the legs a predetermined distance below the bench so as to be collapsible with the basic structure.
