摘要: An improved drive circuit is provided for a DC motor. The drive circuit includes: a DC power source; a relay having a normally open contact and a normally closed contact; a DC motor electrically connected through the normally open contact of the relay to the power source; and a discharge circuit connected in parallel to the DC motor. More specifically, the discharge circuit is coupled to the normally closed contact of the relay and operable to inhibit current flow from the DC motor until the relay has settled in a closed position.

摘要: A sheet stacking apparatus for receiving sheets from a printing or copying machine includes guide structure for directing output sheets onto an elevator platform and a selectively rotatable shaft having paddle arms disposed at a 108.degree. interval. The shaft rotation is controlled so that the arms guide a sheet during stacker input and then rotates 360.degree. to positively clear the sheet trail edge from the stacker input path.

摘要: Apparatus for drying media in a printer includes first and second successive printing stations with a first rotatable member that contacts the wet side of the media between them. Each prints on one side of the media. A media-path extender between the first printing station and the first rotatable member includes a dry-side rotatable member and a wet-side rotatable member around which the media path passes in that order. An extension media path is defined from the first printing station past the dry-side member, the wet-side member, and the first rotatable member, in that order, to the second printing station. The printer selectively transports the media either along a bypass media path or along the extension media path. The wet-side member is farther past the first printing station than is the first rotatable member.

摘要: A mounting apparatus holds in position a droplet generator assembly to be mounted in a continuous ink jet printing system. The droplet generator assembly comprises a pair of conical slots and a pair of conical apertures, located on opposing sides of the droplet generator. A resonator clamping plate includes a plurality of mating protrusions. A resonator support includes a plurality of spherical protrusions. A holding force, such as a screw, securely holds the assembled structure. The clamp and support interact with the conical slots and apertures to locate and exactly constrain the droplet generator. With the mounting structure of the present invention, the six degrees of freedom of adjustment are controlled.

摘要: An apparatus and method allows for mounting and aligning of the charge plate/catcher assembly and the droplet generator within the structure that holds these two parts. Three degrees of freedom of adjustment are incorporated into the frame and are self-locking. Two of the degrees of freedom are the positioning distance of a jet array to charge leads and the parallelism of the jet array to the charge leads. The third degree of freedom is the ability to adjust the jet array so as to align and center the jets in front of the charge leads.

摘要: A method for the production of bitumen from a subterranean reservoir having a zone of increased effective permeability therein. In particular, a first well is in fluid communication with the zone of increased effective permeability at a first level in the reservoir. Fluid communication is established between a second well and the zone of increased effective permeability at a second level above the first level in the reservoir. In-situ combustion is initiated in the reservoir proximate the second well. Combustion sustaining fluid is injected through the second well into the zone of increased effective permeability so that bitumens in the reservoir are mobilized by the in-situ combustion and flow downward through the reservoir towards the first well, through which they are recovered. By using this method, a stable in-situ combustion process is established which avoids fingering and channelling and accompanying early oxygen breakthrough, consequently improving the efficiency of bitumen production from the reservoir.
