Abstract: The invention relates to a connector (1) for data connections, in particular of the RJ type, with a latch element (6) for securing a connection to a counter-connector. In order to simplify a disconnection of the connector (1) and the counter-connector, even when the connection is secured by the latch connection, the invention provides that the connector (1) is provided with a gripping end (5, 5′) that is adapted to transfer the latch element (6) from its latch position (L) and to disconnect the connector (1) from the counter-connector by a single movement.

Abstract: A double flexible optical circuit includes: a flexible substrate supporting a plurality of optical fibers; a first connector terminating the optical fibers at a first end of the double flexible optical circuit; and a second connector terminating the optical fibers at a second end of the double flexible optical circuit. Each of the optical fibers is positioned in one of a plurality of separate extensions formed by the flexible substrate as the optical fibers extend from the first connector to the second connector. The first and second connectors are configured to be tested when the first and second connectors are connected through the double flexible optical circuit. The double flexible optical circuit is configured to be divided in half once the testing is complete to form two separate flexible optical circuits.

A flexible substrate is positioned between the cable entry location and the non-conventional connectors adjacent the front of the body, the flexible substrate rigidly supporting the plurality of optical fibers. Each of the non-conventional connectors adjacent the front of the body includes a ferrule, a ferrule hub supporting the ferrule, and a split sleeve surrounding the ferrule.

Abstract: A twisted pair communications device and associated twisted pair communications system are disclosed. One twisted pair communications device includes a plurality of twisted pair connectors each associated with a different twisted pair communication channel, and a multi-channel connector communicatively connected to each of the plurality of twisted pair connectors. The multi-channel connector is configured to transmit and receive communication signals associated with each of the twisted pair communication channels on a multi-channel twisted pair cable and includes a plurality of wire pairs disposed in a plurality of rows within the connector. Fewer than all of the plurality of wire pairs are communicatively connected to twisted pair connectors, and wherein unassociated wire pairs in the multi-channel connector separate at least two groups of wire pairs associated with different twisted pair communication channels.

Abstract: A metallic contact for insertion into a modular telecommunications plug includes a generally planar body defining a top end, a bottom end, a front end, a rear end, and a length extending from the front end to the rear end. The bottom end is at least partially defined by a blade for piercing an insulation of a wire positioned within the plug. At least a portion of the top end is configured to electrically contact a conductor of a jack that receives the plug. The top end is defined at least in part by a first engagement surface that is separated from a second engagement surface by a notch. An uppermost portion of the first engagement surface defines a first push surface that is generally at the same height as a second push surface defined by an uppermost portion of the second engagement surface. The notch is defined by a front vertical wall spaced from a rear vertical wall, wherein the front vertical wall is positioned at a distance of at least half the length of the contact from the front end of the contact.
