摘要： A card edge connector for receiving and retaining a card edge of a complementary card includes an upper housing and a lower housing each of which defines a central slot therein and the two central slots are in alignment with each other for receiving the card edge of the complementary card. A plurality of contacts each of which includes an upper portion and a lower portion are received in the upper and lower housings so that the upper portion of each contact is slidably received in the upper housing and the lower portion of each contact is fixed in the lower housing. A lever mechanism is pivotally engaged with the lower housing and firmly engaged with the upper housing so that when the lever mechanism is operated to raise the upper housing apart from the lower housing a predetermined distance, the card edge of the complementary card can be inserted into the aligned slots of the two housings with a substantially zero insertion force, and when the lever mechanism is operated to lower the upper housing to contact the lower housing, the upper portions of the contacts will abut against the card edge of the complementary card.

Each contact comprises a contacting portion (40) for electrically contacting a corresponding terminal of a mating connector, an engaging portion (41) for securely latching within a corresponding channel, and a joining portion (42) for electrically connecting with a circuit board. The engaging portion of each contact defines a hollow area (410) symmetrical about a center line for providing the engaging portion with appropriate resilience and for allowing the engaging portion to inwardly deform. A bent portion (43) is further formed between the engaging portion and the joining portion of each contact, and has a smaller width than other portions of the contact for facilitating a bending operation by a tool and for preventing deflection of the joining portion.

A metal cover is fixed to the insulative base and has a plan plate from an edge of which a lever curvedly extends. The lever has an upper contacting portion and a lower pressing portion and the upper contacting portion is proximate to a bottom surface of the plan plate. A pusher is movably received between the insulative base and the metal cover and has a ramp for driving the lever downward when the pusher is depress horizontally. An elastic device is positioned under the pusher and aligned with the lower pressing portion of the lever. A conductor plate comprises a plurality of spring arms each respectively aligned with corresponding one of the partially exposed contacts.

摘要： A tact switch comprises an insulative base having contacts partially retained therein and partially exposing to exterior, wherein the exposed portions of the contacts face upward. Two separated steps are formed in the insulative base and located beyond the exposed portions of the contacts. A conductor plate has a frame positioned on the separated steps, an integral contacting portion surrounded by the frame and connected to the frame via two spring arms. Normally, the contacting portion registers with and separates from the exposed portion of the contacts. An elastic device is positioned on the conductor plate and it is deformable by depression thereon to thus deform the spring arms of the conductor plate and move the contacting portion of the conductor plate downward to electrically connect the exposed portions of the separated contacts simultaneously. The contacting portion of the conductor plate separates from the exposed portions of the separated contacts when the depression on the elastic device is released.

Each board locking device includes a first operative portion for providing a user with a manually locking operation, a protrusion for locking a corresponding notch of the inserted daughter board, and a moveable pin having a second operative portion for providing the user with a manually releasing operation. The moveable pin of the board locking device can be restricted within and linearly slide along a pair of L-shaped slots of the first housing whereby the user can selectively lock or release the daughter board. An elastic supporting portion is adapted to maintain a locking/releasing position of the board locking device with respect to the inserted daughter board under a stable and reliable situation.

摘要： A terminator board holder includes a beam and two support arms extending from opposite ends of the beam to form a U-shaped configuration defining an interior space for receiving a circuit board therein. Retaining members are formed on the beam and support arms in the interior space for retaining the circuit board. Each support arm has a reduced thickness for enhancing the resiliency thereof. A manipulating arm extends from each support arm, and is substantially parallel thereto and spaced therefrom. A barb is formed on each manipulating arm for engaging with an opening defined in a card edge connector thereby securing the terminator board holder in the connector. The barb has an arcuate engaging surface for accommodating a gap defined between the barb and the opening resulting from manufacturing tolerances. The manipulating arms have free ends extending beyond the beam and being connected by a flexible connection member whereby deflecting the flexible connection member causes the manipulating arms to deflect simultaneously to release the barbs from the openings of the connector.
