More particularly, the present invention relates to a manhole that is adjustable in height and/or pitch to allow the top of the manhole top section to conform to the pitch of a surrounding surface, such as a road. Specifically, there is a cover, configured to cover access to the manhole extension, and an adjuster, coupled between the cover and the manhole extension, designed to be positioned in multiple positioned that form an angle of the cover relative to a top edge of the manhole extension. The adjuster has a cover coupler, positioned on a top side of thereof, designed to releasably hold the cover; and manhole extension coupler, positioned on a bottom edge thereof, designed to hold the adjuster proximate to the top edge of the manhole extension. 摘要： The present invention relates to a height adjustable utility access device, such as a manhole, which adjusts in height to allow a top of a cover to sit flush with the surrounding surface, such as a road. The device has a cover which covers access to the utility; a frame coupled over the utility; and an adjuster, coupled between the cover and the frame, for adjusting the height of the cover relative to the frame. The adjuster can include an adaptor ring on the frame, and an extension ring on the adaptor ring. The extension ring can have tabs which selectively engage a plurality of steps on the adaptor ring. Alternatively, the steps can be formed directly in the frame. Alternatively, first and second rings can be disposed between the frame and cover. The rings can have meshing steps.

The angular orientation of the cover can be adjusted by rotating the angled edges, or the adaptor ring and frame, with respect to one another. In addition, the height or elevation of the cover can be adjusted by rotating the tab with respect to the steps, or the extension ring with respect to the adaptor ring.

There is also a cavity formed therein, an upper and lower spherical surface, positioned in the cavity, designed to mate with the spherical surface of the ring, and to securely hold the ring therebetween, and a plate, positioned about the funnel, designed to be secured to the drain base and close the cavity in a way to securely hold the ring and thereby the funnel in a specific tilted position after adjustment. There is a connector coupled to the drain base and positioned below the cavity, designed to be connected to a pipe. Wherein the upper and lower spherical surfaces are mounted on an upper and lower adapter that are placed within the cavity around the ring. Additionally, the funnel has threads positioned therearound, and the ring has threads positioned on the inner surface so that the funnel can be threaded into the ring.

The drain also has a base, positioned proximate to the drain channel, having a cavity to receive the fluid expelled from the lower end. Additionally, the drain has pivoting means, coupled to the lower end of the drain channel, for enabling pivoting of the drain channel relative to the base. Moreover, there is a securing means for pivotally securing the pivoting means to the base. Uniquely, the securing means comprises a pair of plates, each having an inner concentric substantially spherical surface designed to mate with the pivoting means and be coupled to the base. Also, the pivoting means comprises a ring having an inner surface that is attached to the lower end of the drain channel, and an outer spherical surface designed to smoothly pivot against the spherical surfaces of the pair of plates. Additionally, the securing means holds the pivoting means away from a surface of the cavity of the base. Moreover, the securing means has a first configuration that holds the pivoting and drain channel in a first position and has a second configuration that holds the pivoting and drain channel in a second position that is higher than the first position relative to the base.
