Abstract:
A lathe includes a base on a bed having a forward container, a cutting tool on a front surface of the base, an arm on an upper portion of the base, a saddle on an underside of the arm, a first motor at an open end of the arm for moving the saddle, a container at a forward end of the bed, a slide on an underside of the saddle, a second motor on a front surface of the cutting tool for moving the slide, and a chuck assembly on an underside of the slide and including a housing, a third motor at a front end of the housing and having a driving shaft projecting out of a rearward end of the housing, and a chuck at an end of the driving shaft. A workpiece held by the chuck is always disposed above the container during a machining operation.
Abstract:
A rotational power servo toolpost includes a plurality of rotational tool holders, which can freely rotate 360 degrees, to cut a workpiece from various angles. The rotational power servo toolpost has a turret base, a turret, tool holders mounted on a side surface of the turret and having a variety of needed tools, a tool-holder-rotating device, and a tool-rotating device. When the tool holder with the needed tool rotates along with the turret to the preset area, a servo motor of the tool-holder-rotating device drives the related members to freely rotate the tool holder around 360 degrees according to the machining requirements. The tool-driving device then drives the tool, thereby cutting the workpiece from various angles.
Abstract:
A quick coupler for mounting a rotational disk which enables the rotational disk to be quick connect to or disconnect from a pad conditioner disk holder is disclosed. The quick coupler consists of two major components of a disk holder and a travel housing. The disk holder is formed in a ring shape having a center aperture in a polygon shape for intimately engaging a polygon-shaped shaft of the travel housing such that a rotational torque can be transmitted from the travel housing to the disk holder. Each side of the polygon is provided with a steel ball and a recessed slot behind the ball for receiving a jutting key operated by a retractable ring attached to the travel housing. The travel housing is formed in a cylindrical shape that has a first end threaded for engaging a drive means and a second end in the polygon shape.
Abstract:
A turret lathe includes a bed having a chip pan, parallel bed ways, a first motor on the bed, a sliding carriage on the bed ways driven by the first motor for translating the carriage in a first direction, the carriage having a gable guard above the bed ways, and a second motor; a turret assembly slidably mounted on the carriage and driven by the second motor for translating the turret assembly in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction; an L-shaped headstock including a first chuck and a third motor at an open end of the horizontal portion; and a tailstock including a second chuck aligned with the first chuck, a second slide, a threaded shaft through the second slide to rotatably connect to the third motor, and two parallel racks between the second slide and the horizontal portion of the headstock.

Abstract:
A power generator using batteries to drive the generator to rotate for power generation, and using the generated power to recharge the batteries is provided. The power generator includes a battery set to provide power to rotate a starting motor. The starting motor is connected to a first link device, which is connected to a first generator. The rotation of the starting motor enables, through the first link device, the rotation of the first generator to generate power for other electrical devices. The first generator, through a second link device, enables a second generator to rotate and generates power when the first generator is in operation. The power generated by the second generator recharges the battery set so that the power generation efficiency is improved.
Abstract:
A cover for a pad conditioning assembly for use in a chemical mechanical polishing apparatus and a pad conditioning assembly incorporating such cover are disclosed. The cover may be formed of a body portion with at least two boss sections and at least two locking tabs mounted in the boss sections. The cover provides a quick mount/dismount to a support plate of a pad conditioning assembly by engaging and disengaging the blocking tabs. The cover further provides the advantage that when a substantially transparent material is used in fabricating the cover, any malfunction or breakage of the components under the cover can be readily observed. The cover is further provided with an extended skirt section such that all the major components of the pad conditioning assembly can be shielded a slurry solution and cleaning fluids.
