Abstract:
An electrical connector for mating with a plurality of contacts separated from one another by a nominal pitch value includes an array of contact surfaces having a first dimension measured in a direction perpendicular to a mating direction between the plurality of contacts and the array of contact surfaces. The first dimension is greater than the nominal pitch value, thereby assuring electrical contact between the contacts and the contact surfaces despite an actual deviation from the nominal pitch.
Abstract:
An electrical connector for mating with a conductive plate having a plate mounting edge, and first and second surfaces extending from the plate mounting edge is provided. The connector includes a contact having a contact mounting edge and a lead interface edge opposite the contact mounting edge. A first contact beam and a second contact beam extend from the contact mounting edge, and the first contact beam is configured to engage the first surface of the plate when passed over the plate mounting edge. The second contact beam is configured to engage the second surface of the plate when passed over the plate mounting edge, and the first and second contact beams are laterally offset from one another along the contact mounting edge. At least one lead contact extends from the lead interface edge, and the lead contact is configured to mate with a mating connector.
Abstract:
A coaxial cable connector assembly includes a coaxial cable comprising a conductive braid, and a primary shield coupled to the cable and in electrical contact with the conductive braid. The primary shield defines a three sided enclosure surrounding the cable, and a secondary shield defines at least a portion of a fourth side of said enclosure and is electrically connected to the conductive braid.
Abstract:
A header assembly includes an insulative housing having a plurality of walls defining an interior cavity extending along a mating axis, and a plurality of contacts within the cavity and extending through one of the walls to an exterior of the housing for surface mounting to a circuit board. The insulative housing includes at least one alignment rib extending on an exterior surface thereof in a direction substantially perpendicular to the mating axis. The contacts are formed against and abutting the alignment rib, thereby ensuring coplanarity of the contacts for surface mounting to a circuit board.

Abstract:
A electrical interconnection device for receiving and holding a plurality of electrical contacts. The electrical interconnection device includes a metal support substrate having an array of contact receiving apertures extending therethrough. Each of the contact receiving apertures is defined by an aperture wall and the contact receiving apertures are adapted to receive the plurality of electrical contacts. The electrical interconnection device also includes a dielectric layer coating the aperture wall. The dielectric layer insulates the plurality of electrical contacts from the substrate.
