    摘要: An electrode system includes a release liner separating a pair of electrodes. The release liner includes a first portion having electrically conductive and non-stick characteristics and a second portion having electrically non-conductive and non-stick characteristics. An electrically conductive portion of the electrode is disposed over the first portion while an adhesive only, electrically non-conductive portion of the electrode is disposed over the second portion. The release liner includes a pair of electrically non-conductive sheets and an electrically conductive sheet interposed between the non-conductive sheets. The non-conductive sheets include an aperture to expose a portion of the conductive sheet for providing electrical conductivity between the pair of electrodes.

A second conductive layer is spaced apart from the first conductive layer such that no electrical communication occurs between the first and second conductive layers. A method of prompting a rescuer in the application of cardiopulmonary resuscitation to a victim includes the steps of: sensing a force applied by the rescuer to the victim's sternum; sensing an interval between successive applications of force to the victim's sternum; comparing the force applied by the rescuer to the victim's sternum to a standard of force known to effect resuscitation; providing a prompt to the rescuer that prompts the rescuer to vary the force delivered to approximate the force that is known to effect resuscitation, comparing the interval between successive applications of force to the victim's sternum to a standard interval known to effect resuscitation; and providing a prompt to the rescuer that prompts the rescuer to vary the interval of force application to approximate the interval that is known to effect resuscitation.

    摘要: A facial mask for use in medical respiratory treatments such as sleep apnea CPAP therapy. The mask includes a preferably transparent front plate to which is attached a skirt of flexible material adapted to sealingly impinge on the face of a patient. The mask is of sufficient size so that as it seals the nose from all but the desired therapeutic airflow, the sealing pressures will be felt on the forehead, the upper lip, and the malar region of the face spaced from the nose. Thus pressure on the bridge of the nose and in the maxillary region adjacent to the nose are avoided, resulting in a significant decrease in the possibility of intense pain.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for electrically stable electrodes and sensors having a flexible base or substrate. One or more flexible and pressure sensitive resistors having a high resistance and a high temperature coefficient of resistivity are printed on a first surface of the flexible base, and a second set of one or more substantially identical resistors are printed on a second surface such that each resistor on the second surface is directly opposite a resistor on the first surface. The opposing resistors are then electrically interconnected in mating pairs, so that when the substrate is flexed, one resistor of each pair is compressed and the other is tensed with the result that the changes in resistance cancel one another.
