Abstract:
Systems, devices, and methods are described for allowing users to, among other things, rate specific occurrences of an event, including receiving one or more inputs associated with an event; generating a user interface presenting a rating menu and receiving one or more inputs indicative of a rating associated with the event based on the rating menu; and generating event rating information based on receiving the one or more inputs indicative of the rating associated with the event.
Abstract:
Embodiments are described for an erasable watermedia surface assembly and method of use which enables tube-type and pan-type watercolor paint and pigment to be selectively applied and erased both before and after drying. The watermedia surface assembly consists of a tempered hardboard with laminates of water based contact cement and watercolor paper treated with several layers of matte urethane or polycrylic topcoat finish which provides a light-weight assembly for many traditional and also new and unique watercolor techniques, and the easy application of white highlighting onto the painting while wet and also after drying completely, and which is readily erasable using a damp cloth without causing a stain, leaving any residue or damage to the surface.
Abstract:
The wine bottle sealing and dispensing device provides for the dispensing of wine from a wine bottle, or any other liquid from a corresponding liquid container, without exposing the wine or liquid in the bottle to environmental air at any time. The device includes a housing adapted for mounting above a cork of a corked wine bottle. An upper open end of a hollow needle is mounted in the housing, the needle projecting downward from the housing and terminating in a tip adapted for insertion through the cork. A first end of a spout projects outwardly from the housing, and a second end of the spout is in fluid communication with the upper open end of the hollow needle. A cartridge of pressurized, inert gas is mounted to the housing. The cartridge is in communication with an upper end of a gas conduit, which is mounted within the hollow needle.
Abstract:
A clip for mounting a fluid delivery device adjacent a wall of an enclosure is disclosed. In one embodiment, the device includes a base, a hook configured to support the base adjacent the wall, means for attaching a fluid delivery device to the base, and means for rotating the base. Additionally, a method for attaching a clip for mounting a fluid delivery device adjacent a toilet bowl is disclosed. The method includes securing a hook to a rim, engaging a tab of a base to an underside of the rim at an interface, and rotating the base in response to the interface to substantially engage the tab of the base with the underside of the rim.
Abstract:
The invention involves combining a peptide toxin effective against insects, including but not limited to thrips, leaf hoppers, and beetles, with a transport peptide capable of facilitating transfer of the peptide toxin from the gut of an insect to the hemocoel. The combination can be effected by a fusion of genetic material encoding the peptide toxin and the transport peptide, such that expression of the genetic material fusion results in synthesis of a fusion protein combining the functions of both the toxin and the transport protein. Ingestion of the fusion protein by the sucking insect transfers the fusion protein into the insect's gut from which it is transferred into the hemocoel due to the functional activity of the transport peptide where the toxin exerts its toxic effect upon the insect. In a preferred embodiment, the invention is effective in control of such sucking insects as aphids, whiteflies and the like, and other vectors that transmit viruses in a circulative manner.

Abstract:
A waist support frame for a detachment type waist protecting belt to hold the vertebra region of a vertebra related patient is provided. The frame is comprised of, including but not limited to, two plastic plates. Each of the plates has a window at the center and one guiding nut on the center of the exterior side of the inner-half of the rim. The two plates are connected by two hinges, which are attached to the upper and the lower parts of the plastic plates, to form a saddle like shape that fits the contour of the waist of an individual patient dynamically.
Abstract:
The system of the present invention includes, briefly, a point source speaker system, comprising a processor which produces a left minus right (L−R) audio signal, a right plus left (R+L) and a right minus left (R−L) audio signal; three speakers each for audibly transmitting one of the L−R, R+L and R−L audio signals; and a point source speaker enclosure for housing the three speakers in a single enclosure.
Abstract:
A ventilation system to be used over roofing materials that have ribs or corrugations on their surface such as might be found on preformed metal roofing panels. This ventilation system consists of narrow strips of material that are to be placed end to end in such a way as to form a long continuous strip. They are then covered by a typical ridge cap or other flashing material allowing the ventilation air to pass over the roofing material but under the ridge cap or flashing material. The resulting ventilation system is impervious to normal temperature extremes and wind born materials such as rain or snow.
