An apparatus for processing a solid-liquid material comprises a housing formed with a series of interconnected chambers defined by chamber walls with at least two drums mounted in series within the chambers. Each chamber receives one of the at least two drums for rotatable movement therein. Each chamber and the associated drum are dimensioned to define a region therebetween to retain the solid-liquid material. The regions of adjacent chambers communicate with each other to define a continuous passage from drum to drum through the apparatus. An inlet in the housing admits the solid-liquid material to the passage, and an outlet permits extraction of a processed solid-liquid material from the passage. Each drum rotates in a direction opposite to the adjacent drum to advance the solid-liquid material through the passage from drum to adjacent drum in a sinuous path such that the curvature of the solid-liquid material changes when passing from drum to adjacent drum. Methods for processing the solid-liquid material using the apparatus are also disclosed including filtration, washing, expression of liquid, air drying and compression feeding.

A apparatus for disassembling a threaded bolt and nut assembly wherein the bolt is initially extended through an opening provided on a structure and being secured thereto with the nut axially mounted on a threaded rod of the bolt. The apparatus comprises a tool body, a nut gripping element such as a socket mounted for rotation on a working portion of the tool body, the socket being provided with a bore axially extending theretrough. The apparatus further comprises a rotary actuator mounted on the tool body and operatively coupled to the socket for imparting torque to the mounted nut in a direction allowing release of the nut from the secured bolt. The apparatus also comprises a pushing device such as a pneumatic power hammer mounted on the tool body and provided with an elongated push member having a working end being axially displaceable within the bore, and a linear actuator mounted on the tool body and operatively coupled to the hammer for selectively displacing the push member between a retracted position allowing the release of the mounted nut and an extended position where the bolt is at least partially withdrawn from said opening upon thrust of the working end of the push member. A pneumatic control system is provided for controlling the rotary actuator and the linear actuator. The apparatus can be provided with a base for supporting the tool body and a holder connecting the base to the tool body while allowing transversal displacement thereof on the holder. A first embodiment uses a base provided with a rotary arm, while a second embodiment uses a base provided with a displaceable carrier mounted on a rail.

The present invention relates to an apparatus for extracting liquid from a humid mass. The apparatus comprises a cylindrical housing having a first and a second end wall and a cylindrical side wall. At least one inlet is provided for admitting said humid mass in the housing. A pumping system is also provided for forcing said humid mass into the inlet. A rotor has one or more pairs of side walls, which are joined to a bottom wall and define one or more channels open at their periphery in at least a portion thereof. One or more rotor side walls are provided with perforations. The rotor has a central shaft for rotation with respect to the housing, this shaft having a conduit extending longitudinally therethrough, and is provided with one or more draining conduits having a first portion in fluid communication with the perforations. One or more rotor side walls are moved upon rotation of the central shaft. The draining conduit has a second portion in fluid communication with the shaft conduit. A drive is connected to the shaft for rotating the rotor and the apparatus is provided with one or more outlets for discharging matter containing a reduced percentage of liquid therein upon rotation of the rotor, the channel being in direct communication with the shaft conduit.

The present invention relates to a system and a method of extracting liquid from a humid mass by compressing same. The system comprises a conduit of linear, circular or other shape through which the humid mass is displaced. The conduit is of rectangular cross-section, which cross-section can be constant or variable. Further, the conduit has perforated side walls along at least a liquid extraction working section of the conduit. The system further comprises elements which cause an axial pressure at the interior of the humid mass as well as a mechanism to displace at least one of the perforated side walls to convey the humid mass along the working section of the conduit in such a way as to generate between the interior surface of the perforated side walls and the humid mass a dynamic friction force which defines a pressure zone which is less than the axial pressure created by the pressure creating elements. This difference in pressure causes the liquid in the humid mass to flow out of the mass in a direction substantially transverse to the displacement direction of the humid mass and out through the perforated side walls of the conduit.
