The present invention relates to a method for producing carbon nanoparticles from heavy petroleum fractions as the carbon source (precursor), particularly aromatic oil residue (RARO) by chemical vapor deposition (CVD), and optionally by using an organometallic catalyst that is soluble in the precursor. The main feature of the method according to the invention is that the precursor is evaporated in a controlled manner so as to provide a pulse supply of precursor having a constant composition to the inside of a tubular furnace which can be arranged in a vertical position for the continuous production of nanomaterials or in a horizontal position for batch production.

This invention refers to a magnetized intermetallic compound which may be applied as a basic lubricating oil in order to create a high performance finished lubricating oil. Magnetizing the intermetallic compound will confer the ability to the finished lubricating oil to form a magnetic film on the external surface of a solid body, and in so doing will confer to the additive a greater capacity to reduce friction, thus minimizing the effect of wear caused by contact between the surfaces of two bodies of several dynamic systems.

The present invention relates to a process for obtaining an intermetallic compound having magnetic properties, added to a base lubricant to reduce friction between metal surfaces and reduce wear of diverse types of equipment prolonging the working life thereof. The intermetallic compound of the present invention is formed by pulverised nanometric substantially-spherical particles having an extremely active surface, capable of forming a thin adherent film when applied to a metal surface, conferring protection against frictional movements produced by contact between metals.Said intermetallic compound is a new additive for addition to a base lubricating oil, conferring high performance on such oil.
