Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for optically connecting circuit elements and optical fiber systems. In one embodiment, an optical waveguide module includes an optical light guide having opposite first and second planar surfaces extending between a first side edge and a second side edge. The optical light guide can be configured with a substrate supporting one or more optical pathways extending between the first and second side edges. The waveguide module can further include one or more first and second edge connectors, each of which has an adapter port and a first alignment slot opposite the adapter port. The alignment slots extend over the first and second planar surfaces at the first and second side edges to align the adapter ports with the one or more optical pathways in a first direction.

Abstract: A double jointed hinge mechanism for pivotally coupling a door to a telecommunications chassis includes an first hinge arm configured to be non-rotatably attached to the chassis, a second hinge arm non-rotatably attached to the door, and a third hinge arm pivotally attached to the first and second hinge arms. The hinge mechanism is configured such that the door can be placed in a first open position and a second open position through rotation about first and second rotational axes. In the first open position, the door is in a generally horizontal position and below the first rotational axis. In the second open position, the door is in a generally vertical position and forward of a vertical plane defined by the first rotational axis.

Abstract: A blade arrangement for use in a bladed chassis system includes a splice module coupled to a blade. The splice module includes a splice region, a storage region, a first enter/exit region at the first side, and a second enter/exit region at the second side. Either of the enter/exit regions can be faced towards a rear of the blade when the splice module is mounted to the blade. The splice allows unterminated optical cables routed to the rear of the blade to be optically spliced to connectorized pigtails that are received at rear ports of optical adapters on the blade.

Abstract: Digital distributed antenna systems and methods for advanced cellular communication protocols are provided. Abstract: A fiber optic alignment device includes a first and a second alignment block and a first and a second gel block. A fiber passage extends from a first end to a second end of the fiber optic alignment device. The fiber passage is adapted to receive a first optical fiber through the first end and a second optical fiber through the second end. An intermediate portion of the fiber passage is positioned between the first and the second ends. The intermediate portion is adapted to align the first and the second optical fibers between the first and the second alignment blocks. A first portion of the fiber passage is positioned between the first end and the intermediate portion of the fiber passage. The first portion extends between the first alignment block and the first gel block. A second portion of the fiber passage is positioned between the second end and the intermediate portion of the fiber passage. The second portion extends between the second alignment block and the second gel block. End portions of the first and the second optical fibers may be cleaned when slid between the alignment blocks and the gel blocks. The fiber passage may include an undulating portion.
