Abstract:
An apparatus includes a phase plane conversion module to convert image data into at least two phases, a current phase and a previous phase, a first phase motion vector calculation module to generate a first phase motion vector field, a second phase motion vector calculation module to generate a second phase motion vector field, and a double check module to determine which vectors in the first and second phase motion vector fields are double confirmed and to identify regions in which the motion vectors are not double confirmed as occluded.
Abstract:
A method of electroplating includes forming a seed region to be electroplated on a first portion of a substrate, forming a ground plane on a second portion of a substrate, electrically isolating the ground plane from the seed region, electroplating the region, wherein electroplating includes causing the ground plane and the region to make electrical connection, and then removing the ground plane region on the second portion of the substrate, but not removing the electrical isolation. This creates a structure having a substrate, a passivation layer on the substrate, and at least one electroplated, metal region on the substrate such that there is contiguous contact between the metal region and the passivation layer. And, after an additional flip-chip assembly to a bond pad/heat sinking chip, results in a device having a bond pad chip having bond pads, solder beads formed on the bond pads, and a component connected to the bond pads by the solder beads. Wherein, the component has a substrate, a passivation layer on the substrate, and at least one electroplated, metal region on the substrate such that there is contiguous contact between the metal region and the passivation layer.
Abstract:
A test and measurement instrument including a user interface; and a controller is described. The controller is configured to receive a serial bit stream; apply a regular expression to the serial bit stream; and present acquired data, or other data, through the user interface in response to the application of the regular expression to the serial bit stream.
Abstract:
A wearable cardiopulmonary resuscitation assist device or system including: a wearable article to be worn by a cardiopulmonary resuscitation performer or a patient, for assisting administration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation by the performer; at least one sensor for measuring at least one parameter to assist in cardiopulmonary resuscitation; at least one feedback component for conveying feedback information based on the parameter to the performer for assisting the performer in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation; and a processing unit, the processing unit being configured to receive the at least one parameter from the at least one sensor and to send information based on the parameter to the at least one feedback component. Also a method for training or improving cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures using the device.
Abstract:
Each play of a base game increases the likelihood of winning a bonus award. A display provides a graphical indication of the change in likelihood of winning the bonus award. In one aspect, the bonus award comprises the opportunity to play a secondary game.
Abstract:
A method for viewing a simulated light output generated for a first display on a second display includes a variety of steps. First, the simulated light output is generated based on qualities of the first display. Next, the simulated light output is compensated for color differences, temporal differences, luminance differences including gamma difference, and differences in viewing environment between the first and the second display, in real-time. Then, the simulated light output that has been compensated for the differences and for viewing environment is output for the second display.
Abstract:
A planar body is configured such that its edges engage the sidewall of a via of a device under test to create point electrical contacts and the planar body resists removal of the planar body from the via after insertion. The edges of the planar body may include barbs that create point electrical contacts and resist removal of the planar body from the via after insertion. The end of the body that is inserted into the via may form a tapered tip to facilitate insertion. The end of the planar body that is inserted into the via may include barbs that resist removal of the planar body from the via after insertion. The edges of the planar body may include stops that prevent further insertion of the planar body into the via beyond the stops.
Abstract:
Mint selection 08-6-10, denominated ‘Chelan Mint,’ is a new Mentha piperita cultivar that produces a unique essential oil, a compact plant type and resistance to mint rust (Puccinia menthae) and mint wilt (Verticillium dahlia).
Abstract:
An ostomy device (1) has an implant (10) arranged, in use, to be located inside the body of person near the site of a stoma (S). A discharge device (20) is arranged, in use, to provide means for intestinal waste to exit to the exterior of the body of the person. In addition, there is means, in use, to be operatively associated with the implant (10) and removably locate the discharge device (20) at the site of the stoma (S). The discharge device (20) is retained at the site of the stoma (S) by magnetic attraction between the implant (10) and the discharge device (20).
