摘要: Described are systems and techniques for identifying users arriving at a facility based at least in part on a vehicle in which they arrive. In one implementation, vehicles are identified as they arrive at the facility. A candidate set of users previously associated with the identified vehicle is generated. The recognition system may then detect and identify the occupants of the vehicle using the candidate set. The identity of the vehicle may improve the accuracy of the user identification, reduce time to identify the user, or both.

摘要: A seller provides customers with the ability to order items using shipping benefits associated with a separate fulfillment entity, such as an online store, by providing inventory to a designated fulfilment location. When a customer accesses the webpage, identifiers for the customer device and item are used to determine an estimated delivery time the separate fulfillment entity may provide, which may be presented in a widget or other type of element within the webpage. In response to input to the element, the customer may be presented with a prompt for authentication data, and after a successful authentication, the estimated delivery time may be updated based on a location of the authenticated customer. In response to input confirming the transaction, an order for the item is generated by the separate fulfillment entity and the customer may continue navigating the seller website.

摘要: An optical detector system provides positioning data to facilitate tracking in optical communications. The system provides first and second path lengths to direct light onto an array of photodetectors. Incoming first light with a first polarization is reflected by a polarizing beam splitter (PBS) to the array, resulting in a first path length and a relatively wide field of view (FOV). Incoming second light with a second polarization passes through the PBS, interacts with a first quarter wave retarder (QWR) and a convex mirror, is reflected by the PBS, passes through a second QWR and is reflected by a flat mirror to pass through the PBS again and onto the array. The second light experiences a second path length greater than the first path length, exhibiting a relatively narrow FOV. The resulting spots of light on the array provide information about a position of the incoming beam.

摘要: When a first search query including an image of an item is received to search for items associated with similar images, a second search query that includes text based on the image is generated. The text may be based on previous queries associated with the depicted item, visual features of the image, or text that is present in the image. The results from the first search query are scored based on their correspondence with the image of the item. Results having a score greater than a threshold are presented first in the output, followed by a selected number of results from the second search query. Results from the first search query that are associated with a score less than the threshold may be presented after the results from the second search query. This presentation increases the likelihood that items presented earlier in the output are relevant to the initial query.

摘要: An autonomous mobile device (AMD) moves around a physical space while performing tasks. The AMD may have sensors with fields of view (FOVs) that are forward-facing. As the AMD moves forward, a safe region is determined based on data from those forward-facing sensors. The safe region describes a geographical area clear of obstacles during recent travel. Before moving outside of the current FOV, the AMD determines whether a move outside of the current FOV keeps the AMD within the safe region. For example, if a path that is outside the current FOV would result in the AMD moving outside the safe region, the AMD modifies the path until poses associated with the path result in the AMD staying within the safe region. The resulting safe path may then be used by the AMD to safely move outside the current FOV.

摘要: An image is processed to determine semantic data about what is depicted in that image. The semantic data provides information about location in the image and semantic category of an object depicted within the image. The semantic categories may include “background”, “face”, “text”, “clothing”, “exercise”, and so forth. The semantic data may then be used to facilitate distribution of image data while limiting the information shared. For example, the semantic data may indicate the placement and position of a user exercising in first video data. Using the semantic data, second video data may be produced that obscures or replaces parts of the image that do not depict the user exercising. The second video data may then be used for providing feedback to the user, while preventing disclosure of other people, background, and so forth that are depicted in the first video data.

摘要: An autonomous mobile device (AMD) that interacts with a user operates more effectively with reliable information about that user's pose. Occlusion due to obstacles or sensor field-of-view limits may prevent a sensor from “seeing” a user's torso or lower body while the face may remain visible. Face orientation alone produces unreliable results because a user frequently moves their head. Sensor data is acquired over time and used to determine face and body poses, with each pose representing a location and orientation in physical space of that portion of the user. A transform is determined that represents the relative arrangement of a face pose and a body pose at a particular time. If available, the body pose may be used as the user's pose. If the body pose is unavailable or unreliable at a given time, it may be inferred by applying the previously determined transform to the current face pose.

摘要: A multi-modal interactive apparatus provides for output and input using a plurality of modalities. A display presents image output and speakers provide audio output. A sensor module includes sensors such as a microphone array, camera, radar, ambient light sensor, and so forth. Based on how the apparatus is mounted to a supporting structure, in one implementation the overall orientation of the apparatus may be arranged to provide a desired field-of-view (FOV) to the sensors. For example, based on mounting height, the orientation places the sensor module on a top or bottom of the mounted device. Within the sensor module, one or more sensors may be mounted with a pitch angle that directs the FOV to encompass users during typical operation. In another implementation, the sensor module may be repositioned with respect to the apparatus to provide the desired FOV, such as moved from top to bottom.

摘要: An autonomous mobile device (AMD) moves through a physical space without human intervention. Data from sensors on the AMD is used to determine if the AMD has collided with an obstacle. In one implementation the sensors may include a microphone. A collision may produce in the structure of the AMD a characteristic sound that is detected by the microphone and recognized as indicative of a collision. In another implementation information about velocity of the AMD and output from an inertial measurement unit (IMU) may be used to determine a characteristic change in motion that is indicative of a collision. Data from the microphone and the IMU may be combined to improve the reliability of collision detection.

摘要: A compact optical sensor is used to determine heart rate, hemoglobin, hydration, peptides, or oxygen saturation using a light source and a single photodiode. The single photodiode has a first filter and a second filter. The first filter is closer to the light source and is transparent to green light and blocks red light. The second filter is farther from the light source and is transparent to red light and blocks green light. This arrangement of the filters facilitates acquisition of backscattered light from desired depths of measurement within the body of a user. At a first time, the light source emits red light and first output from the photodiode is determined. At a second time, the light source emits green light and second output from the photodiode is determined. The optical sensor determines oxygen saturation using the first output and heart rate using the second output.
