摘要： A tray forming apparatus forms a blank into a tray having a double glued side wall construction for providing a desirable strength to the tray. A platen drives the blank through a forming rails which fold the blank into a partially formed tray having bottom, end and side walls, and inside corner supports formed about the platen. The platen is retracted prior to folding arms further extended portions of the partially formed tray. A compression plate and the folding arms are biased against adhesive portions of the tray for forming a fully formed tray having a double glued side wall construction.

摘要： An apparatus for forming a tray from a blank of sheet material is provided. The apparatus includes a platen configured to move along a path between a first position and a second position to drive the blank downstream from the first position and a first folding arm configured to fold an outside corner support member of the blank to form the blank into a partially formed tray including at least a portion of the outside corner support member being substantially parallel to the bottom panel. The apparatus further includes a fixed plate and a movable plate spaced from and movable with respect to the fixed plate. The fixed plate and the movable plate define a passage therebetween. The fixed plate guides the outside corner support member through the passage to a position adjacent a side panel and/or an end panel.

摘要： A funnel-shaped concentrator that is attachable to the outlet of a standard cast iron burner is disclosed. The concentrator directs the flame produced by the burner toward the outlet of the concentrator causing the flame emanating therefrom to be directed toward the container being labeled. One or more layers of refractory insulating material are placed along the sides of the concentrator, the body of the burner and the top and bottom surfaces of the concentrator so as to minimize the amount of infrared radiation emanating therefrom. In this manner, the containers being labeled or on which a label has been affixed are exposed only to the flame being directed outwardly from the outlet of the concentrator and the amount of infrared radiation to which the containers is exposed is greatly reduced.

摘要： A bag for the containment of fluent material, having an openable and reclosable pour spout. The bag includes a tubular bag body, and at least one flattened end forming a bag mouth. A closure flap emanates from one side of the bag mouth, to be folded over across the mouth to close the bag. A spout structure is affixed to an outer surface of one of the sides of the bag mouth. The spout structure includes a base sheet affixed to the bag body, and a spout flap releasably affixed to the base sheet. Upon sealing of the bag end, the spout flap becomes non-releasably affixed to an inside portion of the closure flap of the bag body. The spout flap is separable from the base sheet, via a first adhesive material is affixed to one or both of the spout flap and base sheet, for enabling repeated opening and reclosing of a portion of a portion of the bag mouth at the spout flap.

摘要： A corner post construction for containers, such as boxes and cartons, which may be fabricated from materials such as corrugated paperboard material. The corner post construction is provided by fabricating a substantially planar sheet of material, having a longitudinal axis, and bending the sheet of material along a fold line which is substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis, so that there are two corner post wings formed, with an included angle formed between them. A corner post reinforcing and retaining material is disposed along the fold line which maintains the corner post wings in substantially fixed angular relation to one another. Corner posts constructed according to the present invention can be affixed to the outside of a unit comprising one or more containers, or merely positioned within an enclosing container, to provide longitudinal support for increased stacking strength, and for enhanced resistance to vertical and lateral crushing at the corners of the container.

The handles comprise a gripping member and two leg members operably attached to the gripping member. The handles further include attachment regions which are initially stretched, independent of the remainder of the handles so as to increase the surface area for adherence directly to the bag itself and/or to corresponding handle attachment patches.

At least one containment cell is seated upon a bottom panel of a tray having side and end flaps for restrainably securing the cell. Emanating outwardly from the tray end flaps at attachment flap fold regions are attachment flaps that envelope interpositioned ones of juxtaposed cell end walls to restrainably secure them. With at least a portion of a side wall of an articulatable cell preliminarily attached to a tray side flap that may be articulated with respect to the bottom panel, folding the tray side flap down to a first position generally coplanar with the bottom panel enables the cell to collapse into a pair of juxtaposed stacked layers. Moving the tray side flap to a second position generally perpendicular to the bottom panel and articulation of the attached cells creates material fillable positions with the bottom region of the cells seated upon the bottom panel of the tray. A master pack carton is provided for receiving a plurality of trays with filled containment cells.

Flaps emanate from the side, end or top wall to align and lock to one another, remaining ones of the side, end or top walls--to maintain the apparatus in its articulated configuration, through locking means operably positioned within the flap. These locking means engage and co-operate with elements in the adjacent side, end or top wall. Support columns extend between the top walls and the bottom wall to further resist collapse of the apparatus during stacking.
