    摘要: The subject invention relates to a vitamin C powder prepared by (a) spray drying an aqueous slurry of ascorbic acid and binder in the presence of an absorbent in amounts such that the resulting powder will contain at least 90 percent by weight of ascorbic acid, no more than 9 percent by weight of binder, from 0.2 to 2 percent by weight of absorbent; and blending from 0.2 to 5 percent by weight of a lubricant into the powder prepared by step (a). Preferably microcrystalline cellulose and mixtures of microcrystalline cellulose and hydroxypropylmethycellulose are used as the binder.The resulting sugar and starch free vitamin C powder prepared by this process will be free flowing, have an ascorbic acid content of at least 90 percent by weight, be color stable under use conditions, will contain a lubricant, and is directly compressible into tablets which have acceptable hardness, friability, color stability, and disintegration times.

    摘要: The subject invention relates to a process for preparing ferriferrocyanide pigments. The process comprises(a) forming an aqueous reaction mixture comprising(i) a ferrous salt,(ii) a compound selected from the group consisting of sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, an inorganic potassium salt, and mixtures thereof, and(iii) an alkali metal ferrocyanide such that the molar ratio of (i) to (ii) to (iii) is about 1:1 to 0.9:1.5 to 1:1;(b) oxidizing the acidic solution by aeration;(c) heating the aerated solution to from 10.degree. C. to 90.degree. C.; and(d) recovering the pigment.

    摘要: The invention relates to foam stabilized compositions containing (a) a high foaming nonionic surfactant which is a block copolymer that is an alkylene oxide adduct of ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, or diethylene glycol, and (b) a foam-stabilizing amount of an amine oxide derived from a fatty alcohol which has been oxyethylated to the extent that ethylene oxide units account for approximately 50 to 75 weight percent of the molecular weight of the fatty alcohol-ethylene oxide adduct. The compositions are useful in the formulation of various products in which foam stability is needed, such as hand detergent bars, hair shampoos, rug shampoos, hand dishwashing detergents, etc..

    摘要: There is disclosed a process for the aqueous solution or emulsion polymerization of acrylamide monomer to produce homopolymers of very high molecular weight using mixtures of water and monomer at least one of which can be contaminated with small amounts of polymerization inhibiting components. In the process, a minimum effective amount of a redox catalyst is utilized in order to obtain very high molecular weight by incrementally adding one member of a redox pair to a solution of the monomer containing a second redox pair number. The process can be initiated at ambient temperatures and pressures, and polymerization is effected without providing additional heat to the reaction mass. Utilizing monomer concentrations of about 10 to about 50 percent by weight, molecular weights of about 1,000,000 to 10,000,000 can be obtained.
