Abstract: Systems are described for measuring, recording, transmitting, accessing, and using an array of physical and physiological measurements that quantify states of complex adaptive systems, such as biological systems, more particularly the state is reflected in a metric designated health capacity. These measurements may be used, for example, for the pre-symptomatic detection and interception of disease states in a biological system. In one aspect, the system comprises a wearable device configured to measure, substantially simultaneously, an array of water-associated metrics, preferably at multiple loci on the biological system and as a function of time. The systems may further comprise using a scalable technology platform to identify, from the array of data across multiple systems, preferably compared to a training data set, utilizing machine readable instructions, to determine and/or predict health states, including the health capacity, of the biological system and to generate recommendations, including modification or nutrition, sleep, physical or mental inputs for the improvement of health for the biological system.

Abstract: An automatic monitoring system for a medical treatment device helps to ensure that an a medical treatment device operated at a treatment location away from a clinic is preformed safely. The monitoring system may verify that an assistant is present during treatment of the patient. Among the features disclosed biometric authentication to verify that a trained assistant is present, a presence detector to ensure the assistant is continuously present during treatment, and warning and recovery processes that allow intermittent lapses in the continuous presence of the assistant. The treatment device also communicates with a remote server or terminal.

Abstract: A decision support tool is provided for predicting uterine contractions. The predicted contractions are determined from measurements of uterine activity (UA). The contraction forecast may be made using a plurality of trained predictive models. The forecasts are formed with linear regressive models based, at least in part, on UA data from a reference population. The predicted contractions may be predictions of contraction duration, contraction peak, and time between contractions. In this way, these predicted contractions may be used for decision support for care plans during labor, such as increased monitoring and/or modifying the care plan.

Abstract: A method of producing a retention piece having a guidance package configured to provide a desired movement profile including: obtaining data descriptive of mandibular and maxillary arches, an index position of the mandibular arch at a maximum closure position, and a temporomandibular joint of a recipient; specifying an appropriate guidance package based on the desired movement profile; positioning a retention piece comprising at least a portion of the specified guidance package about virtual representations of at least one of the mandibular and maxillary arches within a virtual articulator; modeling relative movement of the virtual representations of the mandibular and maxillary arches within the virtual articulator; and generating data that can be used by a computer aided machining (CAM) process to create at least one physical retention piece comprising the specified guidance package configured to provide the desired movement profile.

Abstract: Systems for assisting a user in performance of a meditation activity or another type of activity are described. The systems receive user input and sensor data indicating physiological values associated with the user. These values are used to determine a recommended type of activity and a length of time for the activity. While the user performs the activity, sensors are used to measure physiological values, and an output that is provided to the user is selected based on the measured physiological values. The output may be selected to assist the user in reaching target physiological values, such as a slower respiration rate. After completion of the activity, additional physiological values are used to determine the effectiveness of the activity and the output that was provided. The effectiveness of the activity and the output may be used to determine future recommendations and future output.

Abstract: Systems and methods for the remote management of monitored exercise and rehabilitation in the setting of respiratory conditions are provided. Particularly, therapy guidance to an agent is recited. Sensory data and photoplethysmography (PPG) data are collected from a patient. The sensory data is discarded when the PPG data differs from a prototypical waveform pattern. The remaining sensory data is analyzed, in light of historical data, to generate recommendations for the patient. Additionally, systems and methods for providing an emergency services response during the therapy session is provided. The location of the patient is assessed. The system then converts the location information into longitude/latitude coordinates or into jurisdictional named entities. The translated location data for the patient may then be cross referenced with a real-time updated database of emergency medical services (EMS) contact information. In the event of an emergency situation, this data can then be provided to the healthcare worker.
