    摘要: A scanning laser having a wavelength compatible with a coating binder so as to cure it as the laser scans and irradiates the coating on a moving web. A system and method for curing flakes by providing a scanning laser which scans across a moving coated substrate in a magnetic field allows images to be formed as magnetically aligned flakes are cured into a fixed position. The images have regions of cured aligned flakes. The scanning laser cures the magnetically aligned flakes within it region it irradiates. Alternatively an array of lasers can be used wherein individual lasers can be switched on and off to fix irradiated coating as a moving web is moved at a high speed.

    摘要: The invention relates to a magnetic developer comprising a magnetic toner containing at least a binder resin, a magnetic material and a hydrocarbon wax,wherein said magnetic toner has such properties that:a DSC curve of the toner measured by the use of a differential scanning calorimeter is characterized in that with an endothermic peak in raising temperature, its onset temperature is 105.degree. C. or below and its peak temperature is in the range of from 100.degree. C. to 120.degree. C., and that with an exothermic peak in dropping temperature its peak temperature is in the range of from 62.degree. C. to 75.degree. C. and its peak intensity ratio is 5.times.10.sup.-3 or more; andsaid magnetic material has such properties that:a residual magnetization 6r is in the range of from 12 emu/g to 30 emu/g and a coercive force Hc is in the range of from 130 oersteds to 300 oersteds in a magnetic field of 10,000 oersteds.

    摘要: The dimensions of a magnetized pattern formed on a recording medium are varied, thereby causing the amount of toner attracted to the recording medium to vary, and thereby adjusting the printing density. This type of variation of the dimensions of the magnetized pattern is preferably achieved by varying the pulse width, that is, the duty cycle, of the recording clock which is supplied to a latent image recording circuit. This printing density adjustment method enables stable adjustment of the printing density.

    摘要: A composite support for an imaging element is described, which composite support comprises a polymeric film and an electrically conductive layer, wherein the polymeric film comprises a surface which has been activated by energetic treatment, the electrically conductive layer comprises an electrically conductive agent dispersed in an aqueous dispersible polymeric binder comprising an aliphatic, anionic polyurethane having an ultimate elongation to break of at least 350 percent, and the electrically conductive layer is in contiguous contact with the activated surface of the polymeric film. Imaging elements for use in an image-forming process are also described, which element comprise such composite supports and at least one image-forming layer. The invention provides composite supports and imaging elements containing an electrically conductive antistatic layer having excellent adhesion to energetic surface-treated polymer film supports, and of auxiliary layers to the electrically conductive antistatic layer.

    摘要: A recording head for a magnetic printer utilizes a so-called magnetography, in which a magnetic latent image formed on a magnetic recording medium is developed and actualized by a magnetic toner and which image is transferred and fixed on a sheet of recording paper to provide a hard copy. The recording head for a magnetic printer includes a first thermal head member, second thermal head member juxtaposed with the first thermal head member with a space therebetween, and a magnetic head member arranged on the first and the second thermal head members. A magnetic gap of the magnetic head member extends immediately above the space between the first and the second thermal head members linearly in the same direction. By this structure, a recording head for a magnetic printer which has simple structure and allows formation of a magnetic latent image having clear boundary between opposite magnetic polarities on a magnetic recording medium, is provided.

    摘要: An object is placed within the field of magnetic coils which generate a steady uniform magnetic field. The object contains nuclear spins of coupled first and second types of nucleus, for example, CH.sub.n in which C is a .sup.13 C carbon isotope and H is a .sup.1 H proton. Magnetic resonance signals are generated in the object by RF pulses. Pulse and gradient sequences are generated for providing magnetization transfer from the first nucleus to the second nucleus via first and second channels. A display displays spectra formed from resonance signals processed by a programmed processor via Fourier tranformation of sampled values. A pick up coil is tuned to receive the signals from a corresponding nucleus which is processed by a corresponding channel. The process is volume selective combined with a Hartmann-Hahn transfer sequence.
