摘要： A heating cooker produces hot steam by boiling water in a cooking cavity thereof, and cooks food by use of the hot steam to prepare steamed food. The heating cooker has a cabinet to define a cooking cavity therein. A steaming vessel to contain food and water therein, is laid on a bottom wall of the cooking cavity. A heater is provided at the bottom wall of the cooking cavity to heat the bottom wall of the cooking cavity on which the steaming vessel is laid. Thus, the heater heats the water contained in the steaming vessel, so that the water is boiled to produce the hot steam.

摘要： A cooking apparatus to improve heating efficiency and to quickly cook food. The cooking apparatus includes a heater provided at a tray receiving food to be cooked and having a pair of terminals to supply power to the heater, and a plurality of sockets provided at a rear wall of a cooking cavity. When the tray is placed on a pair of support rails of the cooking cavity and the terminals of the heater are inserted into one of the sockets, the tray is directly heated by the heater to cook the food. The heater includes a conductive film coated on a lower surface of the tray, and first and second electrodes connected to the conductive film to be opposed to each other and connected to the terminals. The conductive film and the tray are heated by current flowing through the conductive film between the first and second electrodes.

摘要： An electric heating element for the bottom of a cooking oven. The heating element has a unique shape or pattern in plan view that includes two narrow loops or arms extending toward the rear corners of the oven and two wider loops or arms extending toward the front corners of the oven with the narrow loops joined to the wider loops by concave side portions and the two wider loops joined in the front by a concave portion. The extremities of the four loops are closely spaced from the rear wall and two walls of the oven. This shape and size creates more uniform heating throughout the oven cavity than conventional heating elements of different shapes or patterns.

摘要： A lightwave oven cooking method and apparatus uses pulsed power applied to a plurality of high-power lamps which provides radiant energy in the electromagnetic spectrum and having wavelengths including the visible and near-visible ranges. Irradiation is applied to the food by applying power to the lamps for a specified period of time without vaporizing all of the surface water on the food, and then applying reduced irradiation to the food to complete the cooking cycle without producing an overly browned surface which inhibits deep penetration of radiation in the near-visible and visible ranges. The reduced power can be at a reduced duty cycle which can be done in a sequence of one or more reducing steps in the duty cycle or a continuous reduction of the duty cycle of the power applied to the lamps. A change in color, in water vapor concentration emitted from the surface, in the food temperatures and/or in the generation of steam to a predetermined degree can be sensed to reduce power.

摘要： A heating unit includes a frame and a substantially flat radiant heating surface supported by the frame. A generally parabolic trough with a reflective inner surface is mounted along one edge of the periphery of the heating surface, and contains an elongate heating element.
