摘要: A sprinkler assembly includes a body, a support, which extends from the body, and a closure device that releasably closes the discharge opening of the body. The sprinkler assembly further includes a trigger that releasably holds the closure device at the discharge opening. The support is adapted to allow the fluid flowing from the discharge opening, when the closure device is released, to pass through the support substantially unimpeded by the support and, further, is adapted to reshape the flow of fluid as it flows through the support.

摘要: A fire protection sprinkler includes a sprinkler body having a boss including a circumferential portion having flat edges, and including a cavity on one of the flat edges, a closure element configured to be held in an output orifice to seal a flow of fluid from the output orifice, and a clip. The clip has a first portion that is engaged with the closure element, and a second portion configured to be inserted into the cavity on the one of the flat edges of the circumferential portion of the boss of the sprinkler body, and configured to contact the cavity such that, upon actuation of the fire protection sprinkler, the clip rotates about an axis passing through two points of contact between the cavity and the second portion, and moves the closure element moves away from the sprinkler body to permit the flow of fluid from the output orifice.

摘要: A sprinkler includes a sprinkler frame and a deflector. The deflector is disposed about the sprinkler and centered along a sprinkler axis with an internal deflecting surface circumscribed about the sprinkler axis, the internal deflecting surface having a central region, a peripheral region and an arcuate annulus region between the central region and the peripheral region, the central region being a planar surface disposed perpendicular to the sprinkler axis and contiguous with the arcuate annulus to define a first diameter of the deflector, the arcuate annulus being contiguous with the peripheral region to define a second diameter of the deflector and the peripheral region including a plurality of spaced apart planar surfaces skewed outwardly with respect to the sprinkler axis to form an outermost discontinuous peripheral edge of the deflector to define a third diameter of the deflector.

摘要: A protection device for a fire protection sprinkler having a first housing portion extending along a first housing axis defining a first internal housing chamber for receipt of one portion of a trigger assembly. A second housing portion of the protection device extends along a second housing axis and defines a second internal housing chamber for circumscribing a another portion of the trigger assembly. The first housing chamber is in communication with the second housing chamber.

摘要: A fire suppression system having a first triggering mechanism capable of being remotely triggered in response to a fire condition and a second manual triggering mechanism. More particularly, the fire extinguisher includes a valve for a fire extinguisher capable of manual and automatic operation. The system further includes a mechanism to notify of inoperable local status. During automatic operation, the system can be being triggered by a control panel in electrical communication, such as in response to a signal from smoke detectors. This system may also be manually triggered or in response to a temperature threshold sensor or other sensors. The valve includes an actuator that provides a separate area to place a safety pin for storing securely, and which provides feedback to the control system that the safety pin is properly stored and therefore, the fire extinguisher is active.

摘要: A sprinkler including a housing having an outlet aperture covered by a shut-off valve, a heat-sensitive destructible element, and an actuation monitoring device. The monitoring device is configured as a current-conducting coating that is applied to a surface of the element. The coating has terminals for connecting to a circuit of a sprinkler status monitoring unit. The element is configured as a hermetic glass bulb filled with a liquid that boils at a sprinkler activation temperature. The terminals are located at one end of the heat-sensitive destructible element and are connected to the coating using clamps that encircle the surface of the element. The coating is applied to the surface using sputter deposition. The applied coating is electrically conductive and allows the bulb to be heated to a boiling temperature of the liquid with which the bulb is filled, while feeding voltage from the sprinkler status monitoring unit.

摘要: A fire detection device and method therefor are able to provide automatic activation so as to extinguish a fire. The fire detection can be rapid and temperature-based. In one embodiment, a heat collector can be provided to enhance thermal responsiveness. Activation of the fire detection device can be electrically induced to release an extinguishing agent at the fire. The activation can be protected such that it is durable and unaffected by vibrations.

摘要: A dry sprinkler includes a flexible tube section that maintains a pressurized fluid, such as a liquid antifreeze solution, between a first end and a second end. A first seal prevents fluid from a supply line from entering the flexible tube section. The first seal is maintained in a sealed position by a pressure of the pressurized fluid. A sprinkler head is coupled to the second end of the flexible tube section, and includes a frame, an output orifice, a deflector, a second seal that seals the output orifice, and a thermally responsive element configured to maintain the second seal in a sealed position when the thermally responsive element is in a non-responsive state. A differential pressure controller maintains a ratio between the pressure of the pressurized fluid in the flexible tube section and a pressure of a supply fluid in the supply line to at least a certain ratio.

摘要: A sprinkler assembly that includes a sprinkler frame, preferably formed from a plastic material and a deflector assembly that translates with respect to the sprinkler frame upon actuation of the sprinkler from an unactuated state. Moreover, the deflector assembly includes a first portion which axially translates relative to the sprinkler outlet in the actuated state of the sprinkler assembly and a second portion that remains fixed with respect to the sprinkler outlet to support a thermally responsive trigger and seal assembly in an unactuated state of the sprinkler assembly.

摘要: A fire suppression system in which the water supply line is fitted with repeating arrays or groups of sprinkler heads. Each array is composed of at least two side-discharge sprinklers. The side-discharge sprinklers in each array are aimed so that their coverage areas point in opposite directions. Each side-discharge sprinkler includes a lateral heat shield. The lateral heat shield has a concave heat-concentering side that focuses radiant heat toward the sprinkler's trigger, and a convex heat-scattering side that disperses radiant heat away from the trigger. In some embodiments, the array can include one or more vertical-discharge sprinklers. The vertical-discharge sprinkler may include a heat collector to facilitate early activation of its trigger.
