Abstract: Apparatus for use in controlling a fog generator used in applying insecticide. The control apparatus includes a control panel which is adapted to be supported at a remote location relative to the fog generator and is provided with a vertically adjustable support post having a universally adjustable mounting base for securing the control panel at a desired adjusted position. A flow meter having an adjustable flow rate valve operatively associated therewith is mounted on the control panel and connected in line between insecticide supply means and discharge means. A thermometer is connected in line between the insecticide supply means and the discharge head for monitoring the temperature of the insecticide being discharged, for use in determining the regulation of the flow control valve means. An electromagnetic control valve is connected between the insecticide supply means and the discharge head and is operable between an on and off insecticide discharge position by switch means provided on the control panel.

Abstract: A gaseous fog generator connectably receiving aerosol containers charged with material to be liberated as a mist and subsequently treating said mist with a processing means applying heat thereto and which ensures thorough expansion of said material into the gaseous state. The aerosol container is attached to a shell for support and which accommodates the processing means that channels and which exposes mist nozzled therein to heat, while isolating the shell from said heat. Abstract: Flexible diffuse-reflective smart camber (FDRSC) devices are disclosed herein. The devices include UV-C lights sources and an irradiance chamber. The irradiance chamber is open on at least one end through which the plants to be treated are exposed to the UV-C irradiance. Further, the inner surfaces of the irradiance chamber are covered by or consist of a diffuse reflective material that passively intensifies and uniformly distributes the UV-C irradiance to penetrate plant canopies. Also described herein are autonomous vehicles for moving the FDRSC devices across fields of crops and other plants. which is controlled in real time by a dosing control system. Also described herein are methods of in-situ UV-C treatment of plants using the FDRSC devices.
