摘要： A packaging system for 101/2-inch magnetic tape reels in which ten such reels are axially stacked and separated by stacking rings. This axially stacked assembly is then stretch-wrapped in a manner which produces substantial overlap of the stretch-wrap material. A support panel assembly, and two mounting plugs, capture the reels and the wrap material, to thereby seal the reels, and also support the reels with the edges thereof protected. An overpack box conforms to the shape of the support panel assembly, to further support and protect the reels, with the reel edges out of contact with the inner surface of the overpack box.

摘要： A disposable lid for pans, pots and other receptacles, particularly advantageous for use in ovens, comprising a plurality of layers of flexible material the outer of which is a foil and the inner of which is a thin film of plastic, known as a food service film, having the property to per se releasably attach to the surface of an article on a light pressured contact therewith. The lid is simply created by bringing sheets of the respective materials of its plurality of layers to a superposed contacting relation and applying thereto a relatively light pressure and tension causing the facing surfaces of such sheets to substantially coextensively contact and attach under conditions of ambient temperature and without application of intervening adhesive material. Simple apparatus facilitating the production of the lids in a kitchen, as, when and in a form required, comprises a receptacle accommodating or formed to provide means defining separate compartments each receiving a supply of a different one of the materials of the respective layers of material of the lid in sheet form, bearing means to which the sheets of material are simultaneously drawn from the respective compartments, under tension, to be applied thereto in a superposed contacting relation and per se be pressured thereby to produce a unitized layered structure, and means for separating said layered structure into segments each of which comprises a single lid.

摘要： A rod assembly for mounting a roll of sheet material within its own box including a rod member with a cylindrical bearing and an enlarged diameter end-cap which collectively form a first component, and a second component collectively formed by a matching bearing and end-cap having an axial slot for removably receiving the rod member. After initial perforation of the panels at the end of the box by the rod member, the two components are insertable through and mounted in such end panels so that both bearings are journaled inside the open ends of the roll when the rod member is received in the axial slot. When the roll becomes empty, the two components can be manually pulled apart and reused by being compressed together into mounting engagement inside a full roll of material in another box.

摘要： A method and a package are described for the takeup, shipment, storage and individual dispensing of a plurality of rolls of flat elongated material, for example, conveyor belting. The package includes a plurality of side-by-side rolls of flat elongated material, each roll being wound on its own shell. Between each pair of shells there is provided a pair of divider plates. The divider plates are joined at their radially outermost ends to an upper frame member. The upper frame member is joined to a pair of side members which are joined to the outer ends of the assembled shells and to a central member which extends axially through the assembled shells. At least two -shaped tie members are provided which extend axially across the rolls and are joined at their radially inner ends to the outer ends of the assembled shells. Methods assembling and dissembling the package are also described.

摘要： A dispenser reel and container are integrated into a unitary foldable structure which when folded into an assembled configuration, is suitable for the shipping and dispensing of a spool of wire, cable, and the like, that may be wound on a spindle or other hollow cylindrical core device. In one embodiment, the invention is fabricated out of flat corrugated paperboard that is easily cut to appropriate dimensions and provided with fold creases or score lines that make it readily foldable around the packaged spool of cable or the like. In said one embodiment, the cut corrugated paperboard comprises two interconnected substantially rectangular portions and two interconnected substantially circular portions, each circular portion having partially cut fold-out wing portions. The substantially rectangular portions, which form two of the walls of the container, have margin portions along their perimeters which form the remaining four walls of the container when they are folded into place. A first circular portion is integral to a selected margin portion, while the second circular portion is connected to the first by a bridge which also functions as a stand for the assembled dispensing reel. The fold-out wing portions are folded into the center of the reel to form a spindle upon which a spool of dispensable product such as cable is to be mounted. In one embodiment, the fold-out wing portions have interlockable tabs that provide means for locking the wing portions together into a secure spindle configuration.
